Obama Poll Watch -- November 2012

| Posted 12.03.2012 | Politics

November was certainly good to President Obama. He won the election at the beginning of the month, and he's been riding a "bounce" in the polls ever since. There are two notes of caution here, though, for Obama fans.

Massive Ideological Republican Hypocrisy

| Posted 12.05.2012 | Politics

While the entire political punditry world is caught up in yet another horserace, major tenets of the Republican party's faith seem to be crumbling. Their bedrock ideology is revealing itself, in multiple ways, of having been built on sand all along.

| Posted 12.07.2012 | Politics

Well, the weather outside is not exactly frightful (it's a nice day where I live), but watching the politics of the week was certainly "so delightful." So many blowhards, so little time! "Let them blow, let them blow, let them blow!"

We, the audience, sit here watching the last bits of The Great Fiscal Cliff Tragicomedy. In Act V, all join hands and simultaneously kick a huge can labeled "Everything Else" down the road.

My 2012 'McLaughlin Awards' (Part 1)

| Posted 12.21.2012 | Politics

Welcome to the seventh annual homage (which sounds so much nicer than "blatant ripoff," don't you think?) to the television show The McLaughlin Group, since they have the most extensive year-end award category list of anyone around.

My 2012 'McLaughlin Awards' (Part 2)

| Posted 12.28.2012 | Politics

There are some obvious choices in the Destined For Political Stardom category. Instead of the obvious, however, I'm going with a wild card pick: a person who may not become a political star for years to come.
