In this second of two posts previewing my live blogging for Huffington Post next week, I look at what could be some of the key moments in the Sotomayor confirmation hearings.
We'll be updating this liveblog throughout the hearings this week with commentary and analysis, and I encourage you all to post your own questions or feedback in the form of comments.
Judge Sotomayor was effective yesterday, but very brief. Her remarks start to bridge the gap between the two lines of defense offered by Democratic Senators.
I think Judge Sotomayor's having a better day today than yesterday, helped in part by the fact that more of the questions today are coming from the friendlier side of the aisle.
On the fourth day of hearings, the story line seems pretty well set: Sotomayor has effectively portrayed her solid judicial record, while distancing herself from the progressive position on hot button legal issues.
While colleagues on both sides of the aisle were debating old stories about the Supreme Court of the 1960s and 1970s, Franken focused like a laser-beam on the activism of the Roberts Court.
