Who Is Sarah Palin?

Until the Republican Convention, very few had ever heard of Sarah Palin... and now this mean-spirited campaigner is asking who is Barack Obama?

I'm asking who is Sarah Palin?

I know that she's a woman who doesn't believe in allowing women the right to choose their own reproductive health decisions even if they are victims of rape... but approves of these victims getting billed by the government for the rape kits used to examine them.

I know she's a beauty pageant runner-up who is a gun totin' extremist in her views on the environment, religion, women's choice and the separation of church and state.

I know she's a woman who along with John McCain would divide this country while pledging that she and the Senator are "mavericks" who know how to reach across the aisle.

I know that as mayor of the small town of Wasilla she increased spending by 63% and left behind a $19 million long-term debt, which was non-existent before she took office.

I know she hired the same good-ol'-boy network of Washington lobbyists she says she will fight if elected, in order to secure millions of dollars of earmarks for Wasilla.

I know that she's been found guilty of abusing her power as governor by pressuring a state official to fire her former brother-in-law and then firing the official when he refused... an investigation that began prior to her selection as vice president.

And I know that the American public has had less than two months to vet Sarah Palin, and during this time the press has had to fight tooth and nail to secure just two network interviews with her... while she still refuses to appear on the tougher Sunday news shows.

On the stump, Sarah Palin and John McCain continue to avoid addressing the critical issues facing our country. Neither of them provides any substantive conversation on what they will do to steer our country on a journey back to prosperity. Palin's sheer ignorance and lack of experience precludes her from speaking thoughtfully about the financial and foreign policy dilemmas we face. And John McCain's voting record forces him to change the subject.

McCain knows his policies have contributed to the unraveling of our financial systems due to excessive deregulation. McCain knows that he supported the war in Iraq since its inception, which has been a tremendous financial and military drain on our country. Both Sarah Palin and John McCain know that if this election continues to be about the housing market, the economy, healthcare, the environment, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- the issues that affect everyday Americans -- they will lose this election. And after eight years of Republican control that has left this country in deep distress... they should lose. So now that we know who Sarah Palin is... do we want her a heartbeat away from the presidency?

As a long time reporter of small town city governments I observed a phenomenon that repeated itself from town to town without rhyme or reason. It seems that Sarah Palin brought to Alaska state government this same virus. In every small town where I worked over a period of 20 years the mayor, at some point, became embroiled in a dispute with the chief of police eventually resulting in the dismissal of the civil servant at the hands of the political leader. Could we not therefore expect that an elected SP would bring the same small town politics to Washington?

Please keep writing and maybe you will help to pursuade some undecideds (although for the life of me, i do not understand how at this point in time, someone could be "undecided" to me that is the code words for "can't vote someone who is black" pure and simple).

Palin has also been closely associated with the Alaska Independence Party which advocates the secession of Alaska from the union... she gave a taped welcome address to the 2006 AIP convention which can be seen on YouTube...­while you're there take a look at ' Sarah Palin pallin around with secessionists'. Joe Volker the founder of the AIP, vowed that he wouldn't be buried under the U.S. flag and denounced any allegiance the U.S. (you can hear the Joe Volker voice-over)

This woman is dangerous! Well said Barbra! Let's hope that after November, she'll go back to Alaska where, after ALL of the Palin family's (includes first dude) unethical, dirty tricks are documented, the citizens will wise up and use referendum and recall to get rid of her.

My answer to that question would be "no". It was "no" long before I ever heard of Mrs. Palin, and it will be forever "no".

What's troubling about this whole election is that it's a competition between 2 great men (Barack and Joe) and one very mediocre man and his extremely less than poor running mate. The distinctions between the ticket couldn't possibly be more obvious to me.... and yet here we are with McCain regaining ground in the polls.

I guess I just don't understand America.

Why is Palin protected by the media? Why doesn't she do any press conferences? Why hasn't she received the same treatment as Biden in answering the questions? Does Palin think she deserves to get into the VP role and possibly become P without answering any questions. Palin is too thick to answer worldly questions on politics, economics and foreign affairs. She is best suited to getting a job on the Foxs News morning program or even buddying up with Elizabeth Hasslebeth, Megyn or Hannity, other Republic dummies. The propaganda diarhear these media soldiers have is so sicking it makes you want to throw your TV box out of the window. I really thought Murdoch was smart but now having seen Fox if I had any investment in this company I would definately short sell that stock. Palin does not symbolise women she is on a self interest agenda. I am honestly sick of her lies, her words, her face. McCain is 72 yrs old, but the idea that he may drop dead tomorrow and she will become P its worse than anything I can imagine.
