Ann Coulter, everyone's favorite conservative to hate, is still yapping away.
The blonde numbskull is frothing at the mouth about Obama's victory and busy tearing down John McCain and those who supported him during the election. In her latest article for townhall.com, Coulter goes on a bizarre rant about John McCain and David Brooks, then manages to tie it to Prop 8 in California. She writes:
"For the first time in 32 years, Democrats got more than 50 percent of the country to vote for their candidate in a national election, and now they want to lecture the Republican Party on how to win elections. Liberal Republicans have joined them, both groups hoping no one will notice that we just lost this election by running the candidate they chose for us."According to Coulter, columnists like David Brooks pumped McCain up and are therefore responsible for the dire election results:
"In January of this year, Brooks boasted of McCain's ability to attract "independents."Brooks, a Republican clever enough to understand the nation's discontent with the ultra right backed McCain because he had the best chance of winning. Of course, Coulter knew John McCain wouldn't win because he wasn't conservative enough. Like the market fundamentalist who want even less regulation to deal with the financial crisis, Coulter's solution to Republican problems is for it to become even more extreme than it already is. It's a recipe for disaster (and hopefully one that the Republicans decide to try). And then Election Day arrived, and all the liberals who had spent years praising McCain all voted for Obama. Independents voted for Palin or voted against Obama. No one outside of McCain's immediate family was specifically voting for McCain.
But now Brooks presumes to lecture Republicans about what to do next time. How about: 'Don't take David Brooks' advice'?"
The rest of the article isn't really coherent, mostly because Coulter isn't too bright and is incapable of using logic to underpin her arguments . The tirade carries on, shifting to a weird note about Prop 8:
"If liberals are going to use their first majority vote in a national election since Helen Thomas was spilling champagne on Liza at Studio 54 to lecture Republicans on how to win elections, I have a tip for them based on the exact same election: Constitutional amendments banning gay marriage passed in every state they were on the ballot -- Florida, Arizona, even in liberal California. I'll accept the results of the presidential election, if you anti-Proposition 8 die-hards in California accept the results of that vote."
Firstly, Liberals are not upset about the result of the election. They are upset because the Proposition was a farce in the first place, and is a direct violation of the constitution. Secondly, what does this have to do with John McCain and David Brooks? Never failing to surprise, Coulter has an answer:
"Let's see, who was avidly pro-gay-marriage? Oh I remember: The guy who's once again lecturing Republicans on how to win elections: David Brooks."
So let's get this straight: David Brooks was responsible for the Republicans choosing John McCain (despite him winning the primary via the vote), John McCain is too liberal and therefore lost because the country wasn't interested in liberals (despite voting for Barack Obama), and liberals should shut up about Prop 8 because Barack Obama won the election.

Au contraire, mon frere.
We want more Coulter, more Hannity, more O'Reilly, more Palin.
Generally speaking, we want the most frothing at the mouth we can get from hard core Repubs right now. They're so cute when they're angry.
Is Ann trying to win a "worst writing" contest? Because she would have mean competition from Bill Kristol!
It is the mix of somas and L-10s that prevent her from seeing the world in its reality.mccain-palin lost because we voted in unison to be led by the party that would,in reality, serve the american people.
Coulter's right. It's stupid to take your adversary's advice on how to win. No football coach would give it a moment's consideration. The reason liberals (in both parties) tell the GOP that their only chance is to run a me-too candidate is that way they're covered whoever wins. They can live with lower taxes but not with a reversal of feminism or gay lib. Pretty simple logic if you ask me.
Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin should team up with a dog-sled and run for president together. They could then show us all how this country is center-right and liberals are insignificant. They could even bring on Joe the Plumber,
Drill, Baby, Drill.
maybe she is so pissed at the world because she has not eaten since 1979... can somebody buy her a cheeseburger please...
Ann Coulter is a gift to the American public. She is a forceful argument against far right conservatism. Her ilk will always have their following, but similar to lipstick on a pig, she's a pitbull in a skirt, and most sensible people can see that.
By all means, Ann Coulter, keep running your stupid mouth.
"In January of this year, Brooks boasted of McCain's ability to attract 'independents.' And then Election Day arrived, and all the liberals who had spent years praising McCain all voted for Obama."
David Brooks was RIGHT - in January. The sad irony for McCain is that if he had remained true to the candidate he was in 2000, he actually had a shot at winning this thing this year. The Republican base has shrunk considerably from 4 years ago - the only way to win was to attract Independents. McCain lost them when he pandered to the far-right - and slammed the door in the face of any Independents who still thought well of him when he put Palin on the ticket. He probably would've lost regardless - he wasn't different enough from Bush on the big issues, and Obama was a fantastic candidate - but McCain's appeal to Independents made him by far the biggest threat the Republicans could mount this year.
Also: "I'll accept the results of the presidential election, if you anti-Proposition 8 die-hards in California accept the results of that vote." So we're supposed to unconstitutionally abdicate civil rights to a simple majority, to make ANN COULTER accept that Barack Obama won? HA HA HA. Honestly, Ann, none of us care if you secede into Coultervania rather than acknowledge that Obama won the election. (But whether you like it or not, he's your president too.)
If McCain had done what he really wanted and chosen Lieberman for his veep, I believe the republican base would have stayed home and McCain would have suffered a bigger loss.
Ann who?
Hmm that's what I'm thinkin.
No matter who won
She just rants and raves like a mad woman (I'm thinkin the one on the Simpson's-homeless with cats). Looking more pathetic, desperate and irrelevant.
No one cares Ann.
Your only kinda relevant because of Rupert's generosity.
these right wing types sure like to threaten a lot but at the end of the day....the Democrats won the House, the Senate, the White House because Americia wanted it that way.
So Coulter...just f' ing deal with it.
Ann Coulter evidently ran low on cash, so she oozed out of her crawl space to shill it back into the cornucopia. She's like the pet rock phenomena on steroids. Amazing what people pay for.
What a weird site, I read the comments and the are still very obsessed with whether or not Obama is indeed a citizen... total denial about the election....sad sad people
I love her.
She's like an emaciated badger, hissing and spitting.
Her strange little eyes glaring out at a world she can't seem to understand.
Oh man, sign me up, all-coulter all the time.
Her act needs work tho, maybe a hand puppet or something.
"Emaciated badger"! Damn, I wish that was my line. I went with "pitbull in a skirt", but "emaciated badger" has more visual poetry. I raise my glass to you!
Ann, sweetie, nobody on the left is going to tell your cohorts on the extreme right how to win anything. Your small segment of the electorate has been hell bent on marginalizing yourselves and you don't need any help on that effort.
But I really would recommend you see a nutritionist and cut back on the nicotine. OTOH, maybe you're happy with that path as well.
.
.
Let her keep talking.
Let her represent ``Conservatives'' and ``Republicans.''
The longer she's around, the less credibility that side has.
Eventually, there will come along smart people who know how to work beyond hurling invective.
Then, and only then, the right wing will swing back toward power.
But people like Coulter and Hannity have created a stigma that will last for years.
Good!
.
.
She will go away if no one gives her any ink.
