Michelle Malkin was pleased to be on the list I wrote last week on '10 Republicans who should go away. She writes:
Whoo-hoo: We're Number Three!...on a Huffington Post blogger's list of "10 Republicans Who Should Go Away."
I'm a conservative, not a Republican. But whatever.
We're Number Three! And not going anywhere.
You've got to love this about the crazy Right -- they do relish combat (although not when it's real, of course). The sad thing is, her fans think this is a two way race -- their side versus our side, Left versus Right, Democrat versus Republican. The thing is, I'm not trying to compete with Michelle Malkin -- she simply illustrates a point about the corporate media and relentless drive to dumb down the population.
Despite her overwhelming self confidence, there really isn't much to the conservative pundit. Her knee jerk politics are fairly easy to sum up, and her grasp of economics is shockingly poor. She wrote an article for TownHall.com blaming illegal immigrants for the economic crisis, and thinks people in desperate need of economic assistance are 'moochers and entitlement mongers'. Malkin likes to think of herself as an intellectual and does her best to write serious articles. But 10th grade research skills and selective quoting doesn't make her the female incarnation of William F. Buckley.
The article I wrote managed to offend literally thousands of people. My inbox has been jammed with some hilarious emails. I particularly liked this one:
Ben, in keeping with your list of insults against 10 Republicans who should go away, I figured I would hurl them right back at you. Besides name calling, do you have any facts to back up any of your bullshit accusations? Hit me with it JRod, I'm waiting. I dont expect to hear back from you because deep down you know you're more full of shit than the 10 GOP you're bashing. A sincere fuck you Ben Cohen! I get so sick of you faggy liberal idiots.
I seemed to get a lot of emails like that, accusing me of not backing up my assertions. The article contains multiple sources, all hyperlinked for convenience. Conservatives may not have liked the sources, but they were there.
Libertarian ego maniac Neal Boortz was also upset, but mostly because he wasn't the list:
And now, according to a moonbat, we have a list of 10 Republicans Who Should Go Away. I guess they knew I wasn't a Republican, that's why I didn't make the list. Read the comments ... and then remember that these people accuse conservatives of "hate speech."No Neal, you weren't on the list because of your strange Libertarianism, you were simply not interesting enough. Publishing silly books about 'fair' taxes (supported by Sean Hannity - an immediate disqualification) and warbling on about 'Big Government' doesn't put you up there with the big boys (and girls). Sorry Neal, you'll have to work a bit harder to become a Malkin.
In response to many requests, I'll be publishing a list of 10 Democrats we'd like to see disappear from public life next week. And yes, Joe Lieberman is very high on the list.

Michelle Malkin reminds me of a JV cheerleader snarking the Pom Pom squad. I didn't think you could actually squeeze that much hate and ignorance into such a tiny head! Amazing!
Here's my list of DINO's:
1) Nancy Pelosi (Joe Leiberman would be at the top, but he's an independent).
2) Steny Hoyer
3) Jay Rockefeller
4) Harry Reid
5) Rahm Emmanuel
6) Hillary Clinton
7) Dianne Goldman Berman Feinstein
8) John Conyers
9) Bill Clinton
10) All the Blue Dogs.
Three of the best: Barbara Boxer, Russ Feingold and Dennis Kucinich.
Ben Cohen, my hero. The way you described that Malkin chick was spot on. I have read a few lines here and there of her drivel but couldn't manage to read entire diatribes of meaniless and poorly researched "fringe-nut case" propaganda. I chalked her up to someone in dire need of professional help long ago.
As far as the charges against you by the rabid faithful - that you don't back up your claims -- you forget that for the most part these ignorant people don't actually read anything. They're easy to sway and control politically precisely for that reason - they're remarkably ignorant.

It's good she likes being on the list -- she's likely to stay there.
*
She's worked hard enough for it. I love the humorless response from these jokers.
The funny thing about Michelle Malkin, Amy Holmes and the rest of the RightWinger blather crew is that they actually think they have a voice in that group. Listen up good folks: YOU ARE WINDOW DRESSING! The GOP puts you out there so they can say "We are a diverse group". I hate to burst your bubble (well, actually, I love doing it) the GOP is the WASP party. WASP's give the orders. WASP's don't allow your type in the room when the real stratagies are being discussed. You are on order follower. Now get your pretty little butt back out there and regurgitate the talking points we gave you and you'll get a tasty treat!
"Publishing silly books about 'fair' taxes (supported by Sean Hannity - an immediate disqualification)"
I just woke up, thank you the Sunday Morning laugh, You just made my day!
I love the way these people are no longer Republicans after they lose an election.
She'll eventually go away if you IGNORE her. Don't give that desperate attention seeker what she wants by wasting blog entries and comments on her.
Look what happened when Dunkin' Donuts chose not to ignore her. They chose to listen to that ridiculous woman when she squawked about Rachael Ray's "terrorist" scarf.
Now look what happens when you waste blog space saying she should go away - she does exactly the opposite! She comes back with her self appointed and self anointed ways, and causes HuffPo to waste more time talking about her thereby giving her more attention, feeding her narcissism, and guaranteeing she won't go away.
8 years of CONSERVATIVE DISASTER!!! This election was about one thing primarily: a sweeping repudiation of movement conservatism.
Especially when you consider all the other fruits of conservative governance:
Foreign-policy debacles in Iraq and Afghanistan.
A government that invades nations under false pretenses.
A nation less secure and at greater risk of terrorist attacks than ever.
A sinking economy.
An expanding gap between rich and poor.
Utter inaction on global warming.
$5-a-gallon gasoline.
An unresolved immigration problem.
An incapacity to deal with natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina.
A debacle in public-school education testing and funding.
Declining food and consumer-product safety standards.
A government that spies on its own citizens.
A government that tortures prisoners held in their detention facilities.
These messes weren't the result of George W. Bush being too liberal and straying too far from the movement's party line. To the contrary -- they're the direct result of him toeing that line to the millimeter. They are all the direct product of the conservative philosophy of governance. The breadth and depth of Democrats' victory was a loud shout from the American public: We have had enough of this crap. CHANGE HAS COME TO AMERICA!
I have to agree with you there.(on all points) The fact is that this government has left a monumental mess on so many fronts that we are unable to function. Mr. Obama has alot to undo and I'm sure the right will be there bashing him all the way but what they forget is that THEIR leader did this...I get tired of hearing from the likes of Limbaugh state that this is an "Obama recession" um, yeah, dude isn't even in office yet and you blame HIM for this mess....oh boy, talk about missing the mark!
As long as the Repub Party insists on its candidates running as the party of "family values" we will forever be subjected to those morons who think that it is perfectly acceptable to attack any opposition under the banner of righteousness as proclaimed by the likes of Palin, Huckabee, Romney, Coulter, Ingram, Bush, and likely Jindal.
These people have no desire to govern, they merely want to "rule". Inserting their religious ideas into the mainstream by banning stem cell research, gay marriage, women's rights, and their "religious interpretatrion" of the Constitution by advocating that their candidacy is based on "God's will" only encourages more divisive commentary from their right wing pundits.
The "common good" of government has no place in their attitudes unless it allows them to tell others how to live. Until the GOP takes a more reasoned stand through their candidates for office, the party will suffer in the long run. Most of us have moved on and away from "family values" as a litmus test for governing and are much more concerned with competency and ability to lead.
She's extraordinarily foolish. Not worthy of an article.
Gee, Tucker Carlsen didn't make that list! Too trivial, maybe.
I'm sure there's a VERY long list of also-rans. . .
Michelle Malkin is such an unbelievable hypocrite. After reading about her Defense of Internment I was curious about her ancestry, so I headed over to Wikipedia, and found the following:
"Malkin was born on October 20, 1970 in Philadelphia to Filipino parents, Rafaela and Dr. Apolo Maglalang, while they were in the United States on student visas."
And then later:
"Malkin opposes the granting of automatic U.S. citizenship to babies born to illegal aliens, tourists, and temporary workers. Malkin discussed her position on these children, which she called "anchor babies" in a 2003 Jewish World Review column. The column ended, "Citizenship is too precious to squander on accidental Americans in Name Only.""
But you know, if your parents have a student visa, then I guess you're as American as Apple Pie, right? And for someone who thinks the internment of American citizens whose families had been in the US for a few generations was totally reasonable and that racial profiling and discrimination is good policy, I had to laugh at her response to someone calling her an "Asian Ann Coulter":
"I'm not Asian, I'm American, for goodness' sake."
Huh, I wonder how many Japanese-Americans were saying that in 1942. . .
"Hypocrisy is the most difficult and nerve-racking vice that any man can pursue; it needs an unceasing vigilance and a rare detatchment of spirit. It cannot, like adultery or gluttony, be practiced at spare moments; it is a whole time job."
- W. Somerset Maugham
Agree- her parents weren't US citizens, they had her while they were here on temporary visas, which makes her one of the "anchor babies" she so decries. I think everybody writing about her should preface her name with "anchor baby", e.g.- "In the news today: Anchor Baby Michelle Malkin celebrated the fact she is #3 on Ben Cohen's list of people who should go away..."
u know i wish for someone to do a pay per view and challege all right wing pundits to dedate and i mean real debate left wing pundits in tv. i will bet u the right wing wont show up .and i mean the top dogs like maikin and limbaugh /oreilly /ingram/ hannity against olberman/ maddow/ begala / roland martin/ carville. THAT WOULD BE SOME 2 VHOURS AND THE HOST IS LARRY KING BECAUSE HE IS NOT TRYING TO PROVE ANYTHING . THAT WE WE CAN JUDGE ONCE AND FOR ALL .
Pleas not Larry King; "Detroit, Michigan Hello....what's the question, hold it" BORING!!!
Not Larry King. It would have to be someone that would prevent over-talking and shouting and keep to strict time limits.
What do you expect? She belongs to a party that celebrates ignorance.
