Why You Need To Watch 'The Real News'

There are many causes that require charitable donations, so many that it is impossible to determine which ones to take seriously.

With unprecedented disparity between rich and poor, many at the lower end of the economic spectrum survive off handouts from the well off. The media industry is no different, and small companies are under threat from corporate conglomerates that can outspend them by millions of dollars.

Responsible and independent outlets have been replaced by ratings driven news media, creating a serious crisis in public awareness and knowledge. They need outside help, and can only survive because of it.

The Real News is a serious, non-corporate news organization featuring journalism and analysis that MSNBC could only dream about. Created and chaired by Canadian documentary make Paul Jay, The Real News focuses on issues that effect everyday people, with balanced international reporting from a variety of sources. It is hard hitting, interesting and an extremely important source of real news (as their name suggests).

It is very, very hard to make a living in independent media, so I understand how crucial it is for full time projects like The Real News to get funding. We sell ad space on our site, and are taking a more commercial approach to growing our business. The Real News does not.

They take no money from advertising, corporate sponsors or government, relying only on donations from conscientious viewers -- a step further than most independent outlets are willing to go to (including myself). I forgot to mention that one of the really important reports currently on 'The Real News' is called "Holy Warriors in the US Armed Forces." Everyone should take a moment and watch it. You will be shocked and you should be!

Please view the Release of such an important issue of our time. A subject that will change public opinion, and the way America views, the death penalty.

Billy was recently featured in The Guardian out of the United Kingdom as well as The Voice also in the UK. He was also recently a featured guest speaker at Yale University. Since the Supreme Court has ruled Lethal Injection is a humane form of punishment, death chambers at prisons across America are starting to get busy bringing even more attention to our film. I'm impressed as well... it's been a long time coming.

Or is it, returning? I think there was perhaps a point in our past, where that which is 'News' (Information from the North, East, West, and South, the way the word came into being) was indeed about facts rather than merely opinion, or corporate or government driven spin and slant that twists what really occurs in the world, into the "message force multiplier' that is the box in our living rooms.

There is so much opinion out there, such that if every one has one... then no one does, and it gets spun and woven into whatever 'story' they want to weave.

With Corporate America quickly becoming the only America there is, the Real News will get my endorsement in the form of their seed money, from me.
