Ben Shires; raconteur, bon vivant...Yorkshireman. Like his facial features, these may initially appear an unlikely combination, yet somehow they seem to work.

Having originally trained as a lawyer under the assumption that he’d get to wear a powdered wig most days, it didn’t take Ben long to realise that drafting lengthy commercial contracts wasn’t going to satisfy his innate desire to show off. And if that wasn’t bad enough, he’d picked the type of law where nobody wears wigs anymore anyway.

Thus, armed with irrepressible enthusiasm, the kind of dogged persistence that would put a stalker to shame and a commendable range of vintage neckwear, it wasn’t long before he found himself appearing on shows for E4, BBC3 and ITV2, as well as fronting Intel’s Media Week Award nominated World of Tomorrow campaign and the highly successful Dave Weekly, a comedy podcast for UKTV’s Dave brand, which was named iTunes’ Best New Comedy Podcast, 2011.

Ben is an Aquarius though he doesn’t believe in all that nonsense. He lives alone with his two housemates and once stroked a wolf.
