I mourn the passing of Nelson Mandela with a heavy heart and, yet, great hope that his example with inspire greatness in future generations. Madiba, his Xhosa clan name, was the world's great living warrior saint. He is an inspiration for 21st century civil and human rights leaders the world over. He was a revolutionary who valiantly opposed immoral laws. He was also a transformative president who worked within the framework of government to achieve equality.
Everyone can honor him by choosing to live with courage, speak the truth, and love all humanity. If you do nothing else during this period of mourning please take the time to talk to a child about Mandela so that part of his light may shine on in them too.
"Social equality is the only basis of human happiness." -Nelson Mandela
