Berit Anderson is a freelance journalist with a passion for human rights, international politics and Islamic studies. Her most recent travels include a four month stay in Rabat, Morocco, which she spent studying and conducting independent research in the field of urban microcredit – this after a summer of nursing blisters on the Camino de Santiago, a walking pilgrimage from the French side of the Pyrenees to the Atlantic coast of Spain.

Berit received her Arts Baccalaureate this May (2009) in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College in Los Angeles. Having just emerged into an economy ripe with possibility, she is currently living in L.A. and working fervently towards her goal of Arabic fluency, while searching for an inroad into a career in international development, journalism, or, ideally, a combination of the two.

When not working or attending school, Berit’s home is on San Juan Island, Washington.
