Bergamot Station Holiday Open House
Bergamot Station (Santa Monica)
12-5 p.m.
This holiday event at Bergamot Station features holiday food and drinks, performances by Pop Wagon, and affordable art for gifting throughout the Bergamot's various galleries. The free open house also includes a variety of family friendly events.

CalArts MFA 100x100 Fundraiser
ForYourArt at 6020 Wilshire (Miracle Mile)
2-9 p.m.
This one day fundraising event features 100 pieces from 35 graduate students in Art, Photography and Media, and Art and Technology at CalArts, as well as donated work from recent graduates and undergraduates. Each piece is available for $100 and all pieces are first-come, first-served. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to support the MFA class of 2013 graduate group show in June of 2013.

UCLA Graduate Open Studios
UCLA Graduate Art Studios (Culver City)
4-7 p.m.
Opening reception for a group show featuring works by graduates of UCLA's Department of Art. The show includes pieces from more than three dozen artists including Catharine Ahearn, Lilly Aldriedge,Leon Benn, Lucas Blalock, and Sophie Tianxin Chen. Admission is free.

Kathryn Andrews: D.O.A. I D.O.B.
David Kordansky Gallery (Culver City)
7-9 p.m.
Opening reception for an exhibition of works by artist Kathryn Andrews. D.O.A. I D.O.B. features a collection of objects created from readymade and fabricated materials. The reception features a performance-based activation of one of the sculptures in the show. On view through February 2, 2013.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16

In Disucssion: Nancy Rubins and Paul Schimmel
Art Catalogues at LACMA (Miracle Mile)
4-6 p.m.
This event features artist Nancy Rubins in discussion with curator Paul Schimmel. Held in celebration of the release of Rubins' newly published monograph, the conversation to primarily focus on the artist's four decades worth of sculptures and drawings, from early works to more recent large-scale public installations. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

"No Nutritional Value: Introduction to Modern Food"
Machine Project (Echo Park)
7:30 p.m.
Presented by Fontbron Academy, this free lecture highlights methods of healthy eating, safe dieting, and table manner. Topics to be discussed include purging, what not to eat, alternative uses for food, cooking tips and common eating mistakes. Artist to be discussed include Paul McCarthy, Adrian Piper, and Zhu Yu. Attendees are encouraged to being a dish for the event's potluck meal.
