The Gallery at REDCAT presents a one-night screening of Community Action Center, a sociosexual video by A.K. Burns and A.L. Steiner that explores queer sexuality through an intergenerational cast of friends, lovers, and collaborators.

Richard Hawkins: Third Mind
Hammer Museum (Westwood)

The Hammer museum presents the first American museum survey of artist Richard Hawkins. Hawkins' work has defied easy classification since the early 1990's, offering alternate histories and juxtaposing dissimilar elements, from ancient Greek and Roman sculpture, 19th-century French Decadent literature, post-structuralist theory, 1980s teen heartthrobs, Native assimilation in the American Southeast, or the intricacies of Thai sex tourism. The work featured in Third Mind is, at its core, about the pleasure of intense looking.

Alexandra Grant & Keanu Reeves: Ode to Happiness

Celebrate the release of Ode to Happiness, an artist's book created by painter Alexandra Grant and actor Keanu Reeves, and published by Gerhard Steidl. Art Catalogues presents a conversation between the artist and author about their collaboration and the ideas of translation, melancholy, and friendship that inspired the book.

Annie Cohen-Solal In Conversation with Eli Broad and Jeffrey Deitch

Author Annie Cohen-Solal will discuss her recent book Leo and His Circle: The Life of Leo Castelli, with philanthropist Eli Broad and MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch.

We Love Dumplings

Machine Project Operations Manager, Michele, lives in Alhambra, home of delicious dumplings. If you love dumplings, join Machine for a members only dumpling party and fundraiser on Valentine's Day evening. Performances by Ambient Dumpling 3000 and Heather Lockie + Laura Steenberge, a digital photo booth, two cats (limited supplies of Claritin available for allergic dumpling-lovers), a warm fireplace, and dumplings.
