This year's PERFORM! NOW! festival showcases more than 40 performances to take place throughout Chinatown's gallery district. Thursday evening, Human Resources and Francois Ghebaly Gallery open the weekend by hosting a fundraiser featuring four special performances by Julie Tolentino and Stosh Fila, Marcus Civin, Warren Neidich and Emily Lacy, $20 suggested donation at the door.

Join Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects for the closing reception for The Political Landscape by Andrea Bowers. The evening will also serve as a fundraiser for activist Tim DeChristopher, whose nonviolent action and protest against the sale of wilderness for oil and gas drilling has led to serious financial and legal consequences. Works by Andrea Bowers, Edgar Arceneaux, Jedediah Caesar, Glenn Kaino, Olga Koumoundouros, Shana Lutker, Daniel Joseph Martinez, Rodney McMillian, Henry Taylor and others will be available to raise funds in DeChristopher's defense. The evening is also the last chance to see Shana Lutker's solo exhibition, H.Y.S.T. et. al.

Part of the year-long project entitled EATLACMA with Los Angeles-based art collective Fallen Fruit, Public Fruit Jam will engage museum visitors in a day of collaborative jam-making. Patrons are encouraged to bring home-grown or hand-picked fruit! Admission is free, space is limited. Tickets will be handed out the day of the event.
