I had a chance to sit down with contributor Kate Clinton at the Victory Fund's Gay and Lesbian Leadership Conference to talk about her experiences at the White House state dinner last month. Kate and her partner, Urvashi Vaid, were directly in front of the White House gate crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi. Kate disputes Secret Service statements that the Salahis went through all the proper security protocols - including going through a magnetometer.
While Kate's a comic, this serious lapse in security is no laughing matter.
