Bill Parent is a senior administrator at the UCLA School of Public Affairs, where he teaches a course on Leadership in the Public Interest. Prior to that, he was the executive director of Harvard University’s Innovations in American Government Program. A former newspaper reporter, he has published articles in Urban Age, The Washington Post, and The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, New Perspectives Quarterly, and writes the annual chapter on state political challenges in California Policy Options.
