As expected, President Bush is standing against responsible government and healthy kids by vetoing the widely popular expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program to cover a total of 10 million kids.
House conservatives are sweating the upcoming vote to override the veto. Unlike Bush, everyone in the House is up for re-election in 2008. Support for covering 4 million more children with health insurance, and paying for it, is huge among Democrats, independents and Republicans. When people of all stripes see a government program that works, they are eager to build on it and fully address persistent problems.
Conservatives who want to stand with Bush over kids, for more obstruction over progress, can only hope that voters won't notice their vote. The more they stand around kids when the cameras are present, they can pretend they stand for kids.
Well, America's kids aren't standing for it.
We at Campaign for America's Future have a new video: "Kids Warn Conservatives, 'No More Photo Ops.'" Check it out:
And at our homepage, OurFuture.org, you can send your own message to your representative in Congress.
The override vote in the House is expected in two weeks. The more pressure House members feel from their constituents, the more likely we can dislodge this latest attempt to obstruct the public will.

Wait!!!!!!
He could have children sitting in his lap!
They could sing songs to Bush.
They could read him poems on his birthday.
Naaaa,, Too much like Saddam.
I know!
He could use military force to bring an end to sectarian strife, settle all arguments, squash all debates, keep order and force his will and dictates on the people.
Naaaa,, Too much like Saddam.
Wait???????
He could build new prisons, if you disagree he could grab you, set up torture chambers, suspend all rights to privacy, take all the oil revenues and keep them for his friends and let the children suffer.
Naaaa,, Too much like Saddam.
Ok,,, OK,,, I give up..
How?
All the best

Kids shouldn't be standing around when there's sneakers to be made...GUARD!
Fab video! Now, run it on local D.C. television. Hell, cable.
What's that? The TV stations will refuse to run it, for some cockamamie reason or another?
Yeah, I know. Progressives can't even BUY their damned way onto the corporate airwaves. Hey, I saw the WJNO/Rush story today. Believe me, I already knew how the game works.
But you know what?
I also know that their refusal itself then becomes a NATIONAL news story! So... wtf? DO IT.
People like you give me hope for the future. Thank you, and I now leave for your site to add my John Hancock to my representative's conscience (not that that Neanderthal would ever lift a finger to help anyone who's not already rich as sin).
Wonderful commercial...thank you Campaign For America's Future!
