No departures from President Bush's "Recipe For A Successful Speech" last night. Three parts fearmongering to two parts flag waving, mix in a few "stay the courses", add a dash of polite applause (although it turns out that last part is entirely optional -- who knew?), throw it all in a blender and smirk. Should take thirty minutes or twelve years to complete and, of course, there's no need to apologize for the horrible mess. Personally, the only real surprise was that the address wasn't preceded by a sudden elevation in the Homeland Security Threat Level.
