Summer once was a very challenging season for me. I'd not only return from vacation more exhausted I had left, but also with extra pounds as travel souvenirs! Who does not want to look and feel their best during summertime ?

Luckily, this year has been the most emotionally and physically balanced for me! In fact, though I have just celebrated my 42nd birthday, I feel and look younger than ever and thoroughly enjoy all the compliments that come along with it...

Eat

Before I was able to lose over 60 pounds and drastically change my eating habits and looks, I experienced with all sorts of diets. The protein-based and low carb Dukan diet was somewhat my saving grace, coupled with other factors that tremendously
helped me with my weight loss journey. It's one thing to lose weight, it's another to maintain your new-found healthier body.

However, last year, I realized it could be as simple as changing my mindset and simply eat as the person I want to be: happy and healthy. Why would you knowingly feed your body health-damaging and mood-altering foods ?

Think about it: just like you want to be surrounded with people who bring out the best in you, you ought to do the same with nutrition. My sugar-addiction days are far gone but every now and then, I'll enjoy a sugary treat with the right mindset and minus the dreadful consequences.

Pray & Love

Years ago, no one in my circle could convince me of practicing yoga. I found it totally underwhelming and overrated. Who would have thought I would one day turn into such a committed yogini ? I cannot thank my friend Dr. Sandra Martin enough!

In April 2015, I attended a retreat in Switzerland where I started practicing Naam Yoga, a complete and joyful approach to mind and body wellness and universal consciousness founded by Dr. Joseph Michael Levry. Naam provided me with tools for a healthier lifestyle. The combination of prayer, meditation and yoga were enough to rejuvenate my mind, body and soul in a matter of days. I start my day off with meditation and end it the same way. To be mindful helps! I practice yoga several times a week and enjoy delicacies around the world...within reason! What I do more than anything and without limitation is to love! I firmly believe before you can share it with anyone else, it starts with your self-love and well-being.

"There is no wound of mind, heart, spirit and body whether past or present, that cannot be healed with unconditional love." Dr. Joseph Michael Levry
