Olberman, Matthews, Cafferty -- Sexist Remarks In Bitch Video

Clinton Confronts Sexism On the Trail and Vows to Battle On --- Washington Post

Millions of women all over the country feel that Hillary has not gotten a fair deal from the media and are furious at the way she has been treated. They point to specific examples in this Mad As Hell/Bitch UTube video which features examples of blatant and pervasive sexism in remarks by Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews, Tucker Carlson, Jack Cafferty, Mike Barnicle, Tim Russert and other well known liberal news figures.

A major article in today's Washington Post by Lois Romano quotes Hillary on this growing anger at MSM sexism.

In an interview after church services in Bowling Green on Sunday, Clinton for the first time addressed what women have been talking about for months, what she refers to as the "sexist" treatment she has endured at the hands of the pundits, media and others. The lewd T-shirts. The man who shouted "Iron my shirt" at a campaign event. The references to her cleavage and her cackle.

"It's been deeply offensive to millions of women," Clinton said. "I believe this campaign has been a groundbreaker in a lot of ways. But it certainly has been challenging given some of the attitudes in the press, and I regret that, because I think it's been really not worthy of the seriousness of the campaign and the historical nature of the two candidacies we have here."

Later, when asked if she thinks this campaign has been racist, she says she does not. And she circles back to the sexism. "The manifestation of some of the sexism that has gone on in this campaign is somehow more respectable, or at least more accepted, and . . . there should be equal rejection of the sexism and the racism when it raises its ugly head," she said.

"It does seem as though the press at least is not as bothered by the incredible vitriol that has been engendered by the comments by people who are nothing but misogynists."

This article combined with two articles in the New York Times (Gender Issue Lives On as Clinton's Hopes Dim by Jodi Kantor and She Just Might Be President Someday by Kate Zernike) is reflective of an underground feminist ferment that has simmered for months and is finally erupting.

Tom Waton wrote a groundbreaking article in January: The Sexist Media Lynching of Hillary Clinton

What kind of progressive American leader would stand silent, supporting with the cold reserve of ambition the disgracefully sexist, blatantly anti-feminist attack on a well-respected woman of the same party, a political foe perhaps, but a national Democratic leader?

Barack Obama - so far.

Make no mistake, Obama's breakthrough says something wonderful about the state of racial politics in our nation - or perhaps the lack of racial politics - and the involvement of young people in politics. But his silence in the case of the cynical media lynching of Hillary Clinton by a national press corps obsessed with her gender is telling. And unless Barack Obama speaks out, his campaign's chilling acceptance of the gender bias stirred by our national media will also remind many of Ronald Reagan's acceptance of the race-baiting southern strategy - because if Obama accepts the presidency, at least in part, because of abject sexism, a brutal gender attack on a female rival - the most famous female Democrat in history - he will set feminism in our country back a generation.

Days ago, Geraldine Ferraro, the first female vice presidential candidate, strongly suggested that she may not vote for Obama, if he wins the nomination. There is a fury loose in this country, and the Democrats will ignore it at their great peril.

The two videos below illustrate what women have been upset about in the media. The first is more pro Hillary, with some obvious campaign material at the end, and the second lays some blame on the Obama campaign for passivity, by his supporters, with regard to blatant misogyny.

Both are very powerful with explicit references to sexism.

Playing the sexism card so blatantly is kind of sad. As far as Pro-Hillary videos go these are well produced. Funny how the second one mentions Jeremiah Wright at the end. Play the victim while on the attack has been her strategy since 3AM on day one.

Again thank you for your reporting the elephant in the living room that no one had the guts to bring up. It is a little too little too late, but thank you for the post mortem. I suspect Senator Obamas supporters are enjoying his very real potential victory, I also suspect that they will return to blame his failures as a president on Hillary.

I have said from the moment that I finally decided to support Obama rather than Senator Clinton, 10 days before Super Tuesday, that I would support in every way possible the candidate. And if Hillary should pull this off, I shall.

I just hope that every forward thinking American follows my lead. We must vote for the Democratic nominee. All of us.

Remember, if you don't vote (or if you vote for the Republican candidate) you have to shut up for the next four years.

Vote for the nominee!

Dems in 2008!!

Kennedy FOUGHT against Hillary's ideas but She doesn't shame on her. NOT on You Not on ME.

Are You pretending that Kennedy did wrong to engage himself in this camp for what he believe in is better for this country, putting his life in danger and all he has in order to fight for the cause of ONE PEOPLE AND ONE NATION, the country he loves and care so much about, not to die in the hands of the Clintons and Lobbyists but give the country back to the peoples of America.

The failures by Stupidity... of those unable to understand is a danger to a weak divided society, not the United States of America, because as a United Nation, the country got to be the World Power.

Kennedy has during all his life, been fighting for to solidify a foundation of better future for the peoples, Health Care system in for the US. Kennedy has been fighting for the Working Class peoples. In his entire life He has been working for those most in needs... Is that a failure of Kennedy-Obama that Hillary and peoples against them are seek and live without hope or are unable to change because of the hate that inhabit in them divide gender with races and fundamentals values of peoples of the United States of America? THINK and Think again!

Firstly, it's always great to watch Peter Finch in Network. That said, and as a male, true 60's feminist who was literally at the barricades for women's' rights, Hillary is not not going to win the nomination because she's a woman. She's not electable because she is the wrong woman for the moment.

She's brilliant, educated, experienced, knowledgeable and I think probably a very nice person. But she is not Barbara Jordan nor Ann Richards, two incredible Texas Democratic politicians. Both rose to national recognition as keynote speakers at Conventions. And each of those times I said to myself, I want to vote for her as President.

That same feeling arose when I heard another unknown give the keynote in 2004, Barack Obama. I practically leaped out of the chair.

It's not that I don't want a woman President. It's absurd that this country has yet to elect a woman President. But this was not Hillary's time. And she (and Bill) have run a terrible campaign, Blake. Nobody can deny that.

Hillary should take Teddy's place. She'll be an ever greater Senator than he has been. And they will call her The Lioness of The Senate. If she and Bill do the right thing to help elect Obama. If they don't they will be reviled forever.

Sexism is far more pervasive (with racism in second place) in our country and research proves this fact. However, I think this claimfact undercuts her electability argument and she has to know that.

What amazes me is this condition is the very reason why Obama cannot choose a woman (there, I said it; everyone knows what I am talking about). If Clinton was the VP, it would mobilize the racists and chauvinists in a tight anti-democratic cabal. With one black man at the top of the ticket one need only worry about bigots; therefore, Obama has a better shot at winning.

"research proves this fact."

Effective posts provide citations. This kind of unsupported assertion is no more believable than claims that Obama is a Muslim.

Fortunately for everyone, the racists and chauvenists (most often the same person, by the way) are far fewer in ranks than the black and female populations. I think you would see quite the opposite effect, though I won't claim that "research proves this fact."
