Bob Rice is a founder of Tangent Capital, a middle market investment bank. He is also a member of the New York Angels and the author of Three Moves Ahead, What Chess Can Teach You About Business.

Bob began his career at the US Department of Justice and then became a partner at the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. In 1995, he founded a technology venture that later was later bought by a public company. In 2000, he was named CEO of the acquirer and transformed it into an early leader in interactive advertising, setting up its subsequent sale. He co-founded Tangent Capital in 2004.

Along the way, Bob co-founded and served as Commissioner of the Professional Chess Association.

Capitalists, Socialists, and OPM

The indignant screams still echo on Wall Street: Obama's a Socialist! As its own hometown paper puts it, the President's pronouncement that its collective $18 billion year-end tip was "outrageous" amounted to "targeting what capitalists we have left for abuse" (WSJ, Feb 2).
