Snacks From The '90s We Love And Miss

Posted: 09/11/2012 10:20 am

By Kim Holmes, Bon Appétit

Anyone who grew up in the 1990s knows just how good kids had it back then: legit Saturday morning cartoons, pogs, L.A. Lights, Oregon Trail for the Apple II, and of course, the raddest snack foods known to mankind. Containing enough sugar to power a small city and colors not found in nature, these snacks probably weren't the healthiest options out there, but man, were they ever good. Here are snacks that make us nostalgic for the Clinton era. Check out our list and let us know what snacks you miss from the '90s.

Let's be honest: all we cared about was the frosting. The cookies just got in the way.

Ummm, Airheads still exist, and I eat them frequently.

Crystal Pepsi!

dnL soda from 7up. I think it might have been early 2000s, but I still miss that one!

Otherwise, most of those things you can still get.

This recipe was featured on HuffPo last month and if you make it and dip animal crackers or Nilla Wafers in it, it's like eating dunkaroos! http://www.eat-yourself-skinny.com/2012/06/funfetti-dip.html

You can still get a lot of these things. Even though they're not healthy, they definitely tasted yummy.

I miss Hershey's Tastetations. It was solid, hard candy but tasted like chocolate. They also came in caramel, chocolate caramel swirl and I think some sort of strawberry or cherry flavor.

The chocolate was fabulous. Really intense. If you had a craving for chocolate sucking on just one of the chocolate candies was all you needed.

Really wish they hadn't discontinued them.

Not only do Airheads, Gushers and Bagel Bites still exist but I eat all three of them regularly still. (Bubble Tape still exists too I believe, but I do not eat it regularly as I do the other three).

How about those amazing pre-Farley's fruit snacks shaped like sharks, with a glow-in-the-dark shark inside each box? Or how about Squeezit and Mondo? Or Juicy Juice? Or that cranberry soda with the bunny on the label?

You can still buy airheads, dunkeroos, gushers, oreo o's, push pops are all still on the market my 3year old has had all of them, so I am guessing most of the other stuff is still out there as well. What an awful article.

Surge still exists in the form of Vault energy drink.

I really thought bagel bites were still a thing. Maybe totino's beat them too badly. Gushers are most certainly still a thing. As are push pops. But those PB Crisps. Those guys I really miss, and still miss.

Two of my favorite cakes in the 90's were Hostess Chocodiles and Hostess Choco Bliss... mmm, they were good.. I wonder do anyone remembers them? hugs to my fellow 90's kids

Oh my god, I had totally forgotten about PB Crisps. Those things were amazing! Why did they ever discontinue them?
Surge on the other hand, that's something I'd prefer to forget. Nasty.
I remember that Orbitz soda too, though I think I was only in third or fourth grade when that came out. Everyone bought it cause it looked so cool but nobody ever really drank it cause it tasted so awful.
