Brenna Berger is a freelance writer. She writes the Home Front column for The Fayetteville Observer newspaper. The biweekly column chronicles the ups and downs of life as a military spouse with a husband who has been at war for the better part of a decade. She also covers military interest feature stories for the paper.

Brenna is a former federal employee. After leaving full-time employment, she focused on raising her children and volunteering in the military community.

She received a B.A. in political science from the University of Richmond. She is currently a student in the Professional Communication graduate certificate program at East Carolina University.

Brenna lives in Fayetteville, NC with her husband, an active-duty Army officer, and two children. The family has moved six times in 12 years. Her husband has deployed to Somalia, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan during his 18 years of service.

Brenna is a voracious reader, news junkie, slow runner, and coffee lover.
