Hillary's Plan To Elect McCain And A Right Wing Supreme Court

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

As a columnist for The Hill newspaper who is in regular contact with major superdelegates in Congress, let me explain why there is near panic among the supers which I predict will lead to a major move to Obama fairly soon.

Setting aside motive for now, there is one mathematically provable and irrefutable impact of the campaign of personal destruction that Hillary Clinton is waging against Barack Obama. It is this: the road of her campaign leads to helping to elect McCain and hurt every Democrat on every ballot throughout America.

Here is why. What Clinton is doing, which I believe is deliberate but in any event is happening, is to seek to drive as many of her supporters to McCain in a general election.

The best example is her false and destructive claim that she and McCain are qualified to be President and Obama is not. There are other spurious and malicious attacks from Hillary that readers are aware of, which need not be repeated here, which all have the same impact.

From the point of view of superdelagates, and especially elected officials and supers who want Democrats elected and not defeated, here is how it look and why they will make their move for Barack sooner than pundits expect.

Hillary's negative attacks have some short term impact that do not help her against Barack, but do hurt Barack short term against McCain. Hillary may be running the only negative campaign in Democratic political history aimed to persuade her own voters to support a Republican in a general against her Democratic opponents.

In this Hillary scheme, if Barack is nominated some of her supporters would theoretically support McCain or stay home. Similary, as Obama supporters become (correctly) enraged by Hillary's campaign of personal destruction against the candidate (Barack) with the most elected delegates and popular votes, Obama supporters become so embittered by Hillary that a number of them would stay home with Hillary as nominee.

In Hillary's scheme, no matter who is nominated, there would be Democratic and independent voters who have Democratic-leaning views would stay home which hurts all Democratic candidates.

If a Democratic voter or Democratic-leaning independent stays home because of the Hillary onslaught of personal destruction aimed against the Democrat who is winning, those stay-home voters by definition do not vote, either, for the member of the House or Senate, or Governor, or alderman running as a Democrat.

My personal opinion is that Hillary would rather elect a one term Republican of advanced age than a two term young Democratic leader as president. Of course the corollary of the Hillary scheme is that a President McCain would give America the most anti-woman, anti-worker, anti-environmnent Supreme Court in history. But that is not Hillary's concern in her campaign of personal attack and destruction.

Even if this is not Hillary's intent, this is the inevitable, mathematically irrefutable result of Hillary's campaign as she is running it.

Privately, the superdelegates can do the math, and while many lack the courage of conviction and common sense to stand against this, they know it is true.

For these reasons, the supers are in a stone cold panic and will make their move to end this, sooner than pundits expect.

Obama voted for the war to continue while at the same time attacking all the other Democrats for voting similarly. Obama means two faced in italian.

He's already explained. it. He said that since we're in Iraq, we need to support the troops by sending them money.

Hillary, on the other hand, did the exact opposite. She voted to invade Iraq but refused to fund the troops once they're there!

There is ample basis for Budowsky's "personal opinion ... that Hillary would rather elect a one term Republican of advanced age than a two term young Democratic leader as president," aside from her being a crypto-Republican ideologically and a megalomaniac. In 2002, Hillary Clinton sabotaged the McCall campaign for Governor of NY by campaigning with the Republican candidate, Pataki, and directing DNC Chair McAuliffe to withhold party funds from McCall, presumably because it would have damaged her image nationally to be Senator from a state with a black governor or because a Democratic governor could detract from her primacy within the NY Democratic Party. In 2004, the Clintons sabotaged the Dean campaign by peddling the "scream" episode, concocted electronically by mixing out the crowd to make him sound like a lunatic when he actually was just trying to shout above the crowd noise; and then someone, presumably the Clintons, sabotaged Kerry by feeding the Swift Boat Veterans material that could only have been obtained from the Clinton White House. It's sad that Hillary Clinton's career is foundering after McCall, Dean, Kerry, and half a million Americans and Iraqis had to be sacrificed just for the sake of that career. Now she is trying to knife Obama on the same altar, but perhaps this is where it ends.

Even as I, an Obama supporter, am accused of cultish behavior and called demeaning names - I have said repeatedly I would vote for Clinton if it comes down to it. But I've seen so many Clinton supporters say they will basically take their ball and go home if Obama is the nominee. They won't vote for him. There are two excellent progressive websites I visit that have been losing their financial support because they dare to tell the truth about Clinton, and her supporters are boycotting the sites and pulling funding. Her supporters are boycotting other sites as well. This is the most petty, ridiculous, destructive and childish behavior I've ever seen! I expected more from Democrats. But my eyes are slowly opening, and I'm seeing that the Clintons and their supporters really AREN'T so very different from Republicans after all.

I will take a page from Obama's uniter playbook and declare that I will vote for Clinton if she is the nominee, because I still believe the Democrats are better than the Republicans. It's just getting harder to tell the difference between the two lately.

Everything Mrs Clinton or President Clinton say is twisted into an attack or racist. We would be lucky to have her as President and should stop attacking her.
The only thing I was disappointed in was when she said She and McCain had the expereince.THAT WAS A MISTAKE AND SHE SHOULD APOLOGIZE.The rest of the supposed attacks are twisted by the media and talk radio idiots.

So, for those of you still waiting to vote in primaries...

If you want Hillary to be President, you should vote for McCain in the

Repo primary. If you want McCain you should vote for Obama in

the Demo primary. And if you want Obama, don't bother to vote

at all, because no matter which way you go you'd be voting for

the wrong person.

Hey, maybe you remember back when you just voted for the

person you wanted to win?

This is nonsense. It only reinforces my opinion that Obama has a cult of worshippers. It is not American to elect a person who has "worshippers". It's much safer to elect someone like Hillary, who, at least, is realistic about who likes her and who hates her. When someone (like Obama) is surrounded by his own personal cult, he loses touch with reality.

This kool-aid-drinking cult thing is what is nonsense. Obama has a very broad coalition--very broad. What the hell kind of kool-aid is going to work on working class blacks in Mississippi and on middle class white in Idaho???????

Wow now anyone that supports Obama is a cult worshipper!! Do you ever read anything you write? Are you sure you are not the one that is needs a different perspective? Surely you don't really belive that Obama has a cult of millions of mindless followers! Just how paranoid would you be if you really thought that?

My local CBS news finally did a story about GOP voters motivated by Rush Limbaugh skewing the primaries in Ohio and Texas for Hillary.

This is being ignored by the national media, but I'm sure the Superdelegates are well aware.

Hillary was a Republican.
Hillary voted for the Republican war.
Hillary voted for the Republican bankruptcy bill.
Hillary embraces the lobbyists of DC just as Bill embraced Rush when he went on his show.

Hillary helping the establishment in order to just get a shot as President isn't hard to believe.

'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.' Also Einstein. Explains 43 white male Presidents.
