Bret Caldwell has served as Director of Communications and chief spokesman for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for the past seven years. A progressive activist and political operative, Caldwell has worked on numerous campaigns, including Michael Dukakis, Ann Richards, Doug Wilder and an independent campaign to defeat Oliver North. A native Texan, he worked for Speaker Jim Wright (D-TX), Rep. Jim Chapman (D-TX) and Rep. David Price (D-NC). Prior to joining the Teamsters, Caldwell was the Deputy Political Director at NARAL.
