In the words of the infinitely wise Dr. Seuss (with a twist):
The time has come.
The time is now.
Just go. Go. GO!
We don't care how.
You can go by foot
You can go by cow.
Roland W. Burris,
Will you please GO NOW!
You refuse to go.
You refuse to leave.
We don't get why.
But please go.
PLEASE.
You can go by vote.
Or perjury.
You can go by force of the Capitol P.D.
Your state is in shambles.
It's like Watergate.
If you've got any conscience,
Then why make us wait?
The charade is over.
Leave your title behind.
The time has come,
So please RESIGN.
Just go.
Please GO!
We don't care how.
Roland W. Burris, won't you PLEASE GO NOW!"
A message from the Coalition of Illinois Citizens Fed Up with This Crap.
I can understand how angry and frustrated Illinois citizens must be, but on a national level, what with the collapse of the banking system, market meltdowns and more people losing their jobs every day, Burris is just a blip in the radar, an unnecessary distraction from the bigger tasks at hand. He needs to take himself off the radar, for everyone’s sake.
How fitting that you portrayed him as he truly is- a base, cartoon-like character from a nonsensical world. We could all really use some humor right now. Thank you! You’ve got a career as a satirical poet!
