"It" is charisma. When confronted with a charismatic personality, don't you feel yourself drawn to that person, to their ideas, their beliefs? People look up to charismatic people.
What does this have to do with your online venture? Everything.
Charisma drives people to a product or to follow a brand. It captivates them into making a purchase. It could enable you to topple competitors and push you to the top of search engine results pages.
So charisma basically fuels influence, which helps you achieve and maintain your business's popularity. But did you know you don't have to be born with charisma (a usual misconception), that you can actually develop it?
Here are some ideas on how to be charismatic online.
Focus on your followers.
Social media marketing will be easier, and deliver better results, when you try not to pitch all of the time. Instead of trying to convince followers about the value and benefits of your products or services, you might want to relate more to your followers on a human level.
Marketing expert Russ Ruffino has built a seven figure internet business by focusing on this principle.
Ruffino said, "Here is the secret. We automatically become drawn to people who solve our problems. Right now, your potential customers have problems - everything in your marketing should be built around solving them, before they give you any money."
Be genuine about your messages or posts. Listen to what your followers are saying. And remember that social media is a two-way communication channel -- respond to essential posts to create worthwhile engagements.
Reach out to online communities.
Charismatic people are not, by any measure, wallflowers. They engage with people, and in this digital age, that means blog followers and networks in social media. So you'll want to get around, that is, the Web.
Post videos on multiple online video platforms. Get into Google Plus Hangout. Get a Facebook poll going. And respond to online questions as well as complaints. Be everywhere online that is relevant to your brand.
"Every video, every blog post, every webinar you create should provide massive value to your target audience. Put it in front of them in every way possible," explained Ruffino.
Choose your words -- be a great communicator.
Whether you're answering a post or recording a video, you'll want to be able to hold an audience by saying the right things, which will put people at ease. Charismatic people are excellent communicators, from the way they tell stories to the expressive gestures they use.
Be positive, and be self-confident.
Finally, people gravitate toward people who are optimistic and happy. No one wants to follow a downer or someone who is always looking at the proverbial glass as half-empty.
Charisma inspires joy. It makes people want to follow you -- your brand, which is always a good thing. So if you feel you're lacking in the "it" department, work toward building it up and fuel the influence that will drive more business to your brand.
