2012 Wedding Trends

Posted: 04/ 2/2012 3:42 pm

Every year millions of couples make their way down the aisle to say "I Do", but before that walk, there are hundreds of hours put into the planning of their special day. As the wedding season is quickly approaching, here are a few wedding trends that will make a big slash in 2012.

Vintage With A Modern Twist

Vintage is totally in, but with a modern twist! Over the last few years, the idea of incorporating vintage elements into a wedding has been slowing sneaking its way into the foundation of wedding décor, and 2012 is the year this timeless and romantic theme will make a full explosion. But it must feel more authentic than eclectic. The ultra-romantic use of lace is on the rise, but pairing this soft fabric with something like a Ghost Chair or a more modern contemporary chair will be all the rage. The idea that what's old is new again is not so much the trend as the replication of an item that your grandmother may have had in her home many years ago. This year decor will have refined and cleaner lines that provide modern vintage elegance with a a more rugged and crisp feel.

The real question is.what should the groom of the pregnant bride wear...why does it always fall upon the woman as regards to the relationship and appropriate clothing?

Number 2 was my favorite. I love the subdued, elegant effect.

I'm happy to see more weddings in unique locations. There are so many options, both rural and urban, that create an amazing backdrop for photos, and a memorable experience for all involved. Banquet halls are convenient, but many are kind of tacky, not to mention expensive. For anyone interested, here are some suggestions for some non-traditional venues to get you thinking about alternatives you might have close by: http://www.bluecollarbride.com/thinking-outside-the-catering-hall-box-2/
