Broke Girl's
Guide
therefore suggest, nay, insist that you cut class, play
hooky at work, or be otherwise irresponsible, because life is short
and sunshine is free. Grab some friends, hit the beach, sneak into a
hotel pool, or just sit in the sun with href="http://www.brokegirlsguide.com/everywhere/guide/category/be-tipsy"
target="_hplink">a happy hour drink or two somewhere. We won't
tell.

Then, once you've had your fill of sun (and maybe a disco nap), get
ready to P-A-R-T-Y all weekend, because this one's got a lot going on.
Plus, the good weather's going to last at least through Saturday,
which means there is absolutely no excuse for sitting at home watching
DVR'ed reality TV. Put your party pants on... Thursday is the new
Friday!

Friday

Technically, it appears as though href="http://figat7th-yelp.eventbrite.com" target="_hplink">Taste the
Taste at FIGat7th is "sold out" (it's a free event), but we know
you're resourceful enough to sneak your way in. If that doesn't work
out, we suggest you enjoy the lovely weather from href="http://perchla.com/aperitif-hour.html"
target="_hplink">Perch while indulging in the rooftop bar's
Apéritif Hour. Then, try to make it over to href="http://www.thechaya.com" target="_hplink">Chaya before 7
p.m. to gorge yourself on happy hour sliders and sushi rolls, or opt
for happy hour nosh that includes Country Fried Chicken Rolls over at
target="_hplink">Blue Cow. Whichever you choose, you'll want to be
fortified enough to enjoy a few hours of rocking out to the musical
stylings of target="_hplink">The Babies and Allah-Las at The Natural History
Museum's First Fridays concert. It might not be quite the same
experience you'd have at the href="http://www.voiceplaces.com/morrissey-patti-smith-los-angeles-1938217-e/"
target="_hplink">Morrissey/Patti Smith show also happening
tonight, but those tickets are a bit out of our price range.

If asking you to go downtown feels akin to asking you to fly to
Iceland on Friday night, we suggest you start your night at href="http://www.eatatstreet.com/?page_id=666"
target="_hplink">STREET's happy hour and then hit up href="http://www.innovativedining.com/restaurants/sushiroku"
target="_hplink">Sushi Roku West Hollywood's "Sweet Sixteen" menu,
wherein signature items such as Kobe Beef Potstickers and Lychee
Martinis will be heavily discounted throughout March. Then, make your
way over to The Roxy to catch a show by old-school (well, to us,
anyway) hip hop group href="http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=3350934&pl=roxy"
target="_hplink">Dilated Peoples. After, we want you to impress
your boyfriend, or flavor-of-the-week, by hitting up a late-night target="_hplink">Back to the Future screening hosted by Aziz
Anzari. The show is sold out, however, so you'll have to
seriously impress him by figuring out how to sneak in. Good
luck and, at that point, good night!

Saturday

It's going to be another beautiful day, so we don't mind if you skip
all of our suggestions and just href="http://www.brokegirlsguide.com/guide/article/summer-getaway-malibu"
target="_hplink">veg out at the beach. You may also want to use
the day to take advantage of a little href="http://www.brokegirlsguide.com/guide/article/healthy-day-out"
target="_hplink">detox, or spend some href="http://www.brokegirlsguide.com/guide/article/doggie-day-out"
target="_hplink">QT with your four-legged bestie. If none of that
sounds appealing, though, might we suggest you start your day with a
target="_hplink">super-cheap bottomless champagne brunch at Overland
Cafe, which should be at least kinda en route to the href="http://www.yelp.com/events/santa-monica-hiptique-hosts-l-space-trunk-show"
target="_hplink">L*SPACE Swimsuit Trunk Show in Santa Monica? As
an alternative, you could always sit outside at href="http://mstreetkitchen.com" target="_hplink">M Street Kitchen
for a little brunch action. Later, laze the remainder of the day away
perusing Main Street, walking the Boardwalk, or engaging in any number
of other summer-y, westside activities, and then catch a screening of
target="_hplink">Willow at The Aero to end a mellow night.

For those of you who don't stray far from the east side, we recommend
starting your day by href="https://www.grubwithus.com/meals/little-black-bag"
target="_hplink">brunching with Little Black Bag downtown. $69.95
will get you a yummy meal and a bag full of goodies from brands like
Kenneth Jay Lane, Smashbox, and Betsey Johnson, which you'll then be
able to live-trade with other brunchers. Or, grab a quick(er) bite in
Silver Lake or Downtown (we always love href="http://www.squareonedining.com" target="_hplink">Square One
or Nickel Diner)
before heading to href="http://grandparkla.org/ai1ec_event/grand-parks-bookfest-2013/?instance_id="
target="_hplink">Grand Park's BookFest. After, partake in the href="http://www.camla.org/lanternfestival.html" target="_hplink">12th
Annual Lantern Festival, a traditional village street fair hosted
by the Chinese American Museum, before quickly popping in to drkrm's
new Chinatown gallery for the opening of href="http://www.drkrm.com/art_shay.html" target="_hplink">Art Shay's
photography exhibit. Then, the literary-minded should continue the
morning's theme by catching a href="http://www.voiceplaces.com/this-is-your-library-los-angeles-2006149-e/"
target="_hplink">concert/party at The Los Angeles Central Library
(no joke!). After, grab dinner somewhere cheap & fast, like href="http://masmalorestaurant.com/home/" target="_hplink">Mas
Malo (mmmm beef & pickle tacos!), and then head to Club Nokia to
partake in some Brazilian-style debauchery via href="http://braziliancarnavalexotica2013.eventbrite.com"
target="_hplink">Carnaval Exotica.

Sunday

Temperatures are going to drop on Sunday (highs of -- gasp! -- 72!). So,
since you won't need to squeeze into a bikini, we give you full
permission to go apesh*t on brunch at Fatty's Public House, where href="http://www.giltcity.com/los-angeles/fattyspublichousela"
target="_hplink">Gilt City is currently offering the midday meal plus
bottomless mimosas for two for just $42.

If you're as crazy about the show Once Upon a Time as we are,
you're going to want to pack it up after brunch and head to Beverly
Hills to catch a href="http://www.paleycenter.org/paleyfest2013-once-upon-a-time/"
target="_hplink">panel featuring its creators and stars (Ginnifer
Goodwin--swoon!) as a part of PaleyFest. Tickets are $20.

Some of you might be more interested in celebrating St. David's Day,
the National Day of Wales, instead. We fully support this, as href="http://www.lorinrichards.com/aravenabovepress.html"
target="_hplink">Barnsdall Art Park is playing host to quite the
celebration on Sunday.

Later, grab an early href="http://www.dominicksrestaurant.com/sundaysupper/"
target="_hplink">Sunday supper at Dominick's, where three courses
are just $15. Then, since we were recently informed of the fact that
Chocolate
Sundaes
at The Laugh Factory are a must-see, we're going to
suggest you grab a seat at the 8 p.m. show (there's also a 10 p.m. for
you night owls). After, make your way over to The Silent Movie Theater
on Fairfax to partake in href="http://www.cinefamily.org/films/special-events-march-2013/#heart-of-darkness-feat-live-sets-by-reggie-watts-greg-barris-and-more"
target="_hplink">Heart of Darkness, a 10 p.m. show which will
feature stand-up comedy sets by Greg Barris, Reggie Watts, and others.
You are urged to "bring a sin and be forgiven," which sounds like
heavy stuff for a Sunday night, but we're happy to take our sins
wherever they're welcome.
