If you've chipped a vase, stop swearing at yourself and go get your kid's biggest box of crayons. Then very carefully hold a flame under the tip of the crayon, letting the melted wax drip onto the chip. Once it has cooled but not hardened, smooth it out and your vase will be almost as good as new.
