The cliche is that every second counts. This year we are being given an extra second that is supposed to make up for the globe's lost time. Why not use this second to make up for more than that? We can use it to make up for lost lives, for lost opportunities, for lost constitutional rights, for lost weapons of mass destruction. I say we use this second for peace. Just a tiny bit of time to remind us all that we can't turn back the clock on the tragedies but we can use this little gift to begin again to spend time together working for the good of the whole and the love that heals.
