Caitlin Friedman

Caitlin Friedman is a public relations and marketing professional with more than twelve years of consumer, food and beverage, publishing, and television-production experience. In July 1999, Friedman formed Caitlin Connelly Communications, a lifestyle public relations and marketing agency. Her clients included Amazon.com, Doubleday Publishing Groups and Toscorp, Inc. In 2001, seeking to expand her range of clients and grow her business, she partnered with Kimberly Yorio to form YC Media, a full-service public relations and marketing firm based in downtown Manhattan. YC Media's clients include Sur La Table, Jamie Oliver, Disney and former White House Chef Walter Scheib. She and Kimberly are the authors of the best-selling The Girl's Guide to Starting Your Own Business and the upcoming The Girl's Guide to Being a Boss without Being a Bitch. Featured on CNN and The Today Show as well as covered by magazines ranging from Real Simple to Parade, the authors have become a voice for those women that want to achieve success in the professional world. As the co-author of The Girl's Guide business book series, Caitlin has been invited to be a guest speaker at various conferences and colleges including Cornell, Harvard/Radcliff, Wharton, The Massachusetts Governors Conference for Women and The Philadelphia Conference for Women. Caitlin lives in New York City with her husband and twins.

Kimberly Yorio

Over the past decade, Kimberly Yorio has forged a reputation as a keen marketer specializing in the development of strategic publicity and promotions campaigns for cookbooks, restaurants, chefs, and other food-related personalities and products. As the founder of Yorio, Inc., which she ran for three years beginning in 1998, Yorio represented a range of publishers including Hyperion Books, William Morrow & Company, Marlowe & Company, ECW Press, Dorling Kindersley, and Houghton Mifflin. In 2001, Yorio began seeking a partnership that would complement her talents and client portfolio. She entered into talks with a longtime professional acquaintance, Caitlin Friedman that eventually led to the formation of YC Media. As a voice for women entrepreneurs, Kimberly has been interviewed by several leading publications including The New York Times and Good Housekeeping and on more than 50 national and local radio shows across the country. As the co-author of The Girl's Guide business book series, Kim has been invited to be a guest speaker at various conferences and colleges including Cornell, Harvard/Radcliff, Wharton, The Massachusetts Governors Conference for Women and The Philadelphia Conference for Women. It would be easy to be cynical about a women's conference. Haven't we moved past "I am Woman Here me Roar"? Why do we even need a women's conference in 2006? We don't burn our bras, we don't march on Washington (although we should), we don't throw out the word...
