Carol Es is a native Los Angelina and self-taught artist whose work intimately explores the tribulations of childhood and working within the apparel manufacturing industry. She began drawing cartoons underneath the tables in bowling alleys at an early age, and later left home to fend for herself at just 14.

Establishing herself as a musician, artist and writer, Carol has come to show her work across the US and is steadily gaining recognition. Her paintings and artists' books are included in numerous collections including UCLA Special Collections, the Arthur and Mata Jaffe Collection at Florida Atlantic University, and the J. Paul Getty Museum. She is also a recipient of a grant from the Durfee Foundation, The Artist's Fellowship in New York, and is represented by George Billis Gallery in Los Angeles where she is currently having a solo exhibition.
