After many years of working behind the scenes of internet marketing and content development, I stepped forward to create and write the music blog boomitude.com. Tapping into my generation’s shared ‘attitude on music’ that was born before digital, boomitude is a little nod to the past but very much about what’s happening now.

It's all about bridging the gap and bringing back that feeling of wonder and discovery that made us fall in love with music in the first place. Though it’s a collaboration with my music industry husband, if you detect any tone, that would be mine.

I also happen to be a certified yoga instructor (with an epic playlist) and I share my years of study and teaching @tweetasana (yoga, short and ‘tweet). My 140 character nuggets may be small in size, they are filled with rich and juicy yoga insights.

I suppose I fall somewhere between new age and old age though I'm not really either of those things. It's the putting it into words that pulls it all together for me and the best reflection of who I really am.

I don't mean to sound like a fangirl but The Fault In Our Stars is every bit as amazing as all the screams and cheers would indicate. (My own teengirl and I read it as part of our own ongoing book chat and we both give it an A+.)

It's...

He's No Joe Blow

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has proven to be quite the man. He's grown into a versatile actor, he has a cool collaborative internet production company, hitrecord, that champions artists and the creative process and his lip sync battle with Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Merchant may just be the fiercest ever. His Nicki...

People sometimes have a hard time wrapping their brain around the fact that I blog about music and I'm also a yoga instructor. And if I'm a music blogger, why am I always talking about film, TV or yoga? It actually makes perfect sense to me... or rather non-sense. As...

Downton Jimmy

This wouldn't be the first time we've sounded the horn for Jimmy Fallon and his Late Night escapades. (Even as recent as last week, we touted the extraordinary performance from fellow Jim, Jim James.) It's like he has become our very own musical valet. While he has introduced...

Paul Williams: A Living Legend

Remember Paul Williams? If you were raised on a steady diet of 70s pop, then of course you do. Between the hit songs, the awards and all that bouncing from one talk show couch to the next, you couldn't miss him. And then there's the films Phantom of the Paradise...

Prince of the Paupers: Bruce Springsteen

(7) Comments | Posted March 1, 2012 | 11:33 AM

Things are good for The Boss. After all these years, Bruce Springsteen still seems to be riding high even as the music business wanes. It's nice to see he hasn't been rendered obsolete like so many others whose careers span three plus decades. He's managed to earn his keep with...

Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Between (and I)

(0) Comments | Posted November 16, 2011 | 11:02 AM

I first heard the Garland Jeffreys' tune "Roller Coaster Town" on my local radio station WFUV and I was instantly taken. It led me to dig deeper into his new album The King of In Between and I found it was just as good a ride from beginning to end....

Do You Spotify?

(0) Comments | Posted October 27, 2011 | 5:16 PM

OK, no... don't panic. It has nothing to do with adult diapers. Spotify is the music streaming service that has made a big splash in the U.K. and is now hoping to do the same here in the U.S. I've been checking it out over the past few weeks and...
