Chad Ernest is a North West transplant from the Midwest. He has a bachelors' degrees in philosophy and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work experience includes work in both private and public mental health organizations in Wisconsin. Additionally, he has worked in the insurance industry in claims. His current project is working on a master's degree in counseling and developing a comprehensive therapy program for families and couples that includes consideration of family dynamics, environment, and finances.

He has volunteered for such organizations as Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Roseway Neighborhood Association, and the current Vision Plan for Portland, OR.

Politics is a strong area of interest for him.
