Dear Charlie Rose:
Your PBS show should be available as a podcast on itunes for free. [Most are currently available for $5.] C'mon Charlie...please join the modern world. Your show is the ONLY major holdout--even the geezers at 60 Minutes are on board. Launching a free podcast will increase your "viewership" by thousands of people per week (and you will probably be ranked in the Top 25 each week, which will be good for the show).
[If your show requires the revenues from the paid downloads, maybe you could consider using This American Life as a model: free downloads for current episodes, but archives are pay only?]
Sincerely,
Former watcher/future listener/guy who would buy a Charlie Rose tee shirt if it's available and not too flashy
Hmmm...I believe 60 minutes receives revenue from commercials, and can afford giveaways? Plus, who watches THAT show anymore? But your "archives" idea was great for iPodians. You can watch entire broadcasts on his web site for free, however. Either way, the effort he puts into each show should be worth the 5 bucks for you. How much did you just spend at Starbucks today? iPod, iPaid, iPeed.
Charlie Rose is the greatest (& imo, the ONLY) interviewer on television. Watch his show realtime and support PBS, the last major holdout for intelligent broadcasting.
