My Conversation with Admiral William Fallon

I spoke with retired Admiral William Fallon recently. He stepped down last March as U.S. Centcom Commander over perceptions that he was at odds with the administration's policies. We spoke about how he viewed Iran and the importance of U.S. engagement with the world. Here is a part of that conversation:

It must be remembered that President Bush broke the chain of command when he bypassed Adm Fallon at CentCom and also the Joint Chiefs of Staff to give Gen Petraeus full responsibility of the Iraq war during the surge.
