Gov. Ed Rendell is a dominant political figure in Pennsylvania. He's recently been campaigning with Sen. Hillary Clinton across his home state, which is crucial to her efforts to catch up to Senator Barack Obama in the delegate count. Gov. Rendell spoke to me about Clinton's popularity in Pennsylvania and her recent comments about the choice that both pledged delegates and superdelegates will have in their party's convention this summer.

For anyone that voted for the Clintons in '92 and '96 and now support Obama, you will love this article in the WSJ: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120666021737570123.html?mod=opinion_main_commentaries

Documents Released Today Prove Corzine's Deepening Deal Worthless -- New Jersey will be Dumped on Again

Federal documents released today reveal that the May 17, 2007 deal of Governors Corzine and Rendell to allow the Delaware Deepening project to move forward does not contain the key protections for New Jersey that Governor Corzine insisted it did.
These documents prove that Governor Corzine's secretly negotiated deal has accomplished nothing except to allow the Delaware River Deepening to move forward," stated Maya van Rossum, the Delaware Riverkeeper, who obtained the documents under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). "As we feared, the deal turned control of the River over to Pennsylvania and left New Jersey powerless to protect itself from the environmental and economic dangers of the Delaware River deepening."

Governor Rendell is kind of an embarrassment. Sorry Pennsylvania. He just acts like he is the expert on whatever. I hope the people in PA see that Clinton is already exploiting them by assuming that they cannot think for themselves, and they are all bigots. I do not believe that. They are Americans and they see what is happening. Obama is going to clean up this mess. Hillary will keep the same ole same ole. Mostly there is an attitude that those bigots in PA will show the country. Come on. Nasty stuff as far as I can see. PA is better than that.

Did Charlie Rose think to ask Rendell about the corruption charges that he faces in California with the Clinton's and Terry McAuliffe? That would have made for a fabulous conversation.

And to think I once had a favorable opinion of Ed Rendell. Phew, was I stupid, or what!?!

I watched the program last night. I watch the show everyday. I had to turn Gov. Rendell off after about 25 minutes. So I watched quite a bit of the same old spin around HRC. Experience, experience, experience. All I can think is she has the experience to manipulate. It scares me when I see so many folks out there with the same script and the same loyal dog look. Telling me how I should feel about Hillary Clinton because she is a woman. Telling me about the big bad media. Telling me about how she was a victim from the beginning of the primaries. Telling me that the causcuses are undemocratic. All in all they come off as out of touch with America. I don't think they crafted a poll around that. The best was when Gov. Rendell touted SNL as if SNL was still a current satirical commentary in the mainstream. I would argue that very few folks actually watched the show and it took the Clinton campaign to bring it up. I am fine not watching anymore of Hilary's folks on your show. I saw Geraldine on also. How about more people like the President of Shell or how about Alan Greenspan to talk about how Social Security wasn't fixed during the Clinton years or Henry Paulsen. If HRC actually does decide to do an unscripted interview with you. Please ask her why she thinks "misspeaking" is a worthwhile aspect to a candidate.

I wish Charlie Rose asked Gov. Rendell about the voting machines that are going to be used in PA. They are the same machines used in NJ, Gov. Corzine/Clinton supporter, which proved faulty in many counties that should have went to Obama and the outcome still has not been confirmed by third party. Same went on in NY, where potential voting faulties or fraud took place in counties that should have gone to OBAMA. Many people will be watching the outcomes in PA and the accruracy of the voting tallies with these faulty machines. (see www.bradblog.org)

I'm sorry, but I like the big galut. Yeah he's pretty much wrong on everything that comes out of his head or mouth, but still. He'd be great as a NFL commentator. Like Madden. You know he's a duffos, but he's a likeable dummy. And I like him when he says he'll support Mr. Obama, because I believe him. Give me more simple honest people to listen to. I feel like I need a lawyer in the room with Hillary.

He is an NFL commentator. He commentates for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Calling Rendell "a dominant political figure in PA" is too generous. The State Dem "machine" is a mess, Dems are routinely dominated by Republican for state seats, and too many of the Dems that are elected at the state are beholden to land developers and can't get anything done. He, like hillary, plays the machine to suit his political whims. They are truly cut from the same cloth, so it's no surprise that he's in love with her.

And judging by his ode to hillary 'knowing many things,' he's as empty a suit as she is.

Had less of a problem with Rendell, he was just doing what he was sent there to do. It's Charlie who confounds me with people like Rendell, no hard questions, just an affable conversation joking back and forth. He did the same thing when Paul Begala showed up the Friday evening before the New Hampshire debate and primary. Charlie allowed Begala to define the conversation. And this was the show where Begala exhorted Hillary to show the electorate her softer side and he assured the audience that hillary was this wonderful funny woman and on Monday she cried.

good one charlie
