My Conversation with Jamie Dimon

I recently spoke with Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase. We spoke about the recent Bear Stearns buyout, many argue the buyout prevented chaos and instability from spreading across the global market. Here is an excerpt from our conversation:

CNBC gave live coverage to Dimon's speech this morning; he shared his views and insights on the recent Bear Stearns merger/buyout and related matters including the impact on consumers.

Rather than preventing it, the Bear Stearns buyout appears merely to have postponed chaos and instability from spreading across the global market.

When a bank, investment bank or commercial bank, fails these days, the Federal Government (the market discipline republicans) steps in and arranges to set up a transfusion of cash so that the terminal entity can be purchased (mostly at steal prices) so a market transition without "market-discipline" of the failure can take place.
Imagine if Bear had been permitted to fail. This, I might add, is what Republican brag about. They just did not have the stomach to practice what they preach. They are all godless "socialists" walking around with the arrogant bray of christian capitalists. The amazing thing is that most of them are too stupid to realize their shame.

I'll watch it tonight - if I can take it for an hour. Charlie Rose makes me crazy - he asks questions in the same style as Chris Matthews - 19 questions in a row, without letting the subject answer, and then he, himself, answers it, after the subject gets two words out.

"So, if I understand, you're saying...." he'll interrupt, after the guest says half a phrase, and then he drones on again.

I wonder if these talking heads ever watch a show of their own and critique themselves - and I question why they even HAVE guests on, since they love the sound of their own voice so much!

Charlie Rose might give us something more than a link to a teaser for his show. For example, he could try to actually write something on the blog. There must have been something worth commenting on.
