Chaz Proulx grew up in Raymond and has observed Granite State politics for most of his 58 years. He works part time as a political and issue advocacy consultant. He admits to being obsessed with strategy and describes his work as "creating a buzz that gets results."

Chaz has worked extensively in grassroots organizing. He is one of the original founders and a former board member of Democracy for New Hampshire. For two years he was the communications director of that organization. His organizational focus includes building communications infrastructures while researching and writing content.

Additionally Chaz was one of the founding members of the Seacoast Progressive Alliance based in Exeter. He also works regularly within the New Hampshire Democratic Party structure. Outside of electoral politics he has shaped numerous successful public policy and legislative campaigns.

A veteran of many political battles, Chaz has worked with everyone from Howard Dean to first time school board candidates. In 2006 he dedicated most of his efforts to Carol Shea Porter's innovative campaign for the U.S. Congress. His turf was Manchester, where he coordinated his efforts with both the candidate's staff and the Democratic Party staff.

Chaz wrote his first article for NH INSIDER in May 2005.

When he isn't working in politics or writing for NH INSIDER, Chaz can be found playing guitar and singing in blues bars, skiing in the White Mountains or riding one of his two motorcycles ( for you bike lovers: a 1974Norton Commando and a 2003 BMW Boxer Cup Racer). For five years he has been researching and writing a non-fiction book. With luck he'll finish it this year.
