Gabrielle Giffords Is a Fighter

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has been one of my good friends in the House of Representatives. When she was brutally shot, Gabby was out doing what she loved to do -- meeting with her constituents in a local setting, allowing people to speak to her directly about the issues that concerned them. This act of shooting Gabby and many others is an act of unthinkable, uncivilized brutality and we all fear acts like this could have a chilling effect on our democratic system.

Gabby and I have been colleagues on the Armed Services Committee, sitting just a few seats away from each other. She is a fighter there for the people she represents and now she is fighting for her life. She has been one of the hardest working members of the House since she was first elected four years ago. She is dedicated to her constituents, and well liked by all her colleagues. We are all praying for Gabby, her family and the families of all the other victims.

Everything that I've heard about Gabrielle Giffords makes her sound like a fine person. It's sick that our country has come to this.

Who is really to blame? The "Tea Party" members in Congress are merely the paid fools of fat cat special interests. They are mostly ignorant political vandals with totally unworkable, even, as today's tragic news makes clear, dangerous ideas. And their handlers who bought them their offices know that!

The Tea Party's assigned role is to destroy as much as possible the ability of this government to govern.

How did this maniac get access to a gun?

I am so angry & frustrated that I can't think properly.
I hope & pray that Congresswoman Giffords and those other innocent people who were wounded will pull through.

I am so sorry that the Judge and, esp. the 9 yr old girl, & others were killed.
Sickening.

I hear your words and it is sickening. The mother of Christine Green has had the courage to put a message out about the violence. So many of us are in shock. Peace and healing to all.
