I am the writer of www.domesticingenuity.com. I started my website to originally showcase pictures of my cakes and cupcakes for potential clients to browse through. In a few short months, all other aspects of my domestic life seemed to find their way into my blog posts and soon I was discovering my love for writing all over again. I am a DIY-ing, crafting, thrifting, baking, sewing, cooking, deal-loving gal with too much energy and a love for creating. Six months ago, I changed careers form working with children with special needs to become a new stay-at-home mom and it's been an adventure every since. Now this blog is the perfect outlet for afternoon nap time.

I have come to have a love/hate relationship with social media. Take this post for what it is: a rant, a vent, or maybe for some it's just validation for their own thoughts. Isn't that why social media is so prevalent?! For validation or reassurance that your life measures up...

#This Is Real Life

With the sunshine far above the clouds and the cold weather making it so much more tempting to curl up inside, I'm left feeling a little blah lately. Not necessarily down and not necessarily up. The normal ebbs and flows of life and motherhood I guess but nonetheless, I just...

I purposely did not have a birth plan during my pregnancy after seeing so many new moms distraught after their child's birth. The miracle of a new life seemed overshadowed by their disappointment because it wasn't what they had planned. But life doesn't always go according to plan.

I had...
