That's right, Kalinda has "taken care" of Nick. Let's recap the pretty boring main case. Who knew I'd be more interested in Kalinda/Nick? Will defended a CEO in court against Laura (Amanda Peet), the best ASA ever, while Alicia helped the prosecutor in a neighboring county try and convict somebody else for the same murder. Yep. Anyway, Becky Ann Baker (wife of Dylan, the endearingly creepy Colin Sweeny on "The Good Wife,") of "Freaks & Geeks" fame finally guest starred as the defense attorney Alicia was trying to thwart. What took you so long, casting directors? I'd welcome her back for some revenge. Both clients were found guilty of the same murder and super ASA Laura started on her way to being Will's newest lover. Anyway ... to the good and awkward stuff.
"Se ... x." Grace consulted the Internet to learn about sex after Alicia confronted her about condoms. Yes, Grace typed "sex" into a search engine. Alicia really knows nothing about her kids, huh? She wasn't aware who Zach is dating, what Grace is even up to or anything else really. It was painful. Turns out Jackie was looking up condoms and checking her email during Thanksgiving. Awkward.
"Are you threatening me?" Nick tried to get Alicia to get Cary off his team, but Alicia wised up to him and lied about discussing his matters with the partners. Nick called her out on this and Alicia didn't back down in a scene that can only be watched while holding your breath. Alicia told Kalinda about this incident and you know what happens when somebody messes with Alicia ... Kalinda and her plaid skirt will have his head! Kalinda skipped the bat and sledgehammer in favor of running over Nick's righthand man with her car. Talk about sending a message. She had Nick meet her at Lockhart/Gardner late at night and presented him with a getaway and money, telling him the cops are already busting his drug ring. He didn't believe her and asked for Plan B ... cut to Alicia doing tequila shots alone, waiting for Kalinda. I gasped at the sight of tequila shots and then when Kalinda showed up, looking "relieved." She assured Alicia that Nick was gone and never coming back. So ... did she kill him? Will we ever find out? This was the most thrilling the Kalinda/Nick storyline has been, partly because it seems like it has concluded. The whole situation kind of reminds me of this.
Can we take a minute to talk about Diane's sunglasses? No brooch was needed because she was wearing those puppies indoors. Not once, but twice. Yes, that is what I took away from Eli's storyline. I was pleased to see the writers giving Diane something to do besides stomp around about Nathan Lane, but she really deserves her own story. Get her back in court, bring on the character development! The Justice Department came down on Eli and they came down hard. Maura Tierney's going to win this election, right?
I really wasn't fond of the main case -- it seemed pretty absurd -- however, Kalinda finally (hopefully?) taking care of Nick was enough to make this a memorable episode.
