The Delicate Subject of John McCain's Marbles

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

"Evil must be defeated!" -- John McCain 8/16/08

"Enough is enough! We're going to put an end to greed!" -- John McCain 9/17/08

It's inspiring to know that John McCain has a plan to end greed. I just hope it doesn't distract him from his mission to defeat evil. Either way, it has to kick the shit out of whatever Barack Obama's got on the docket, with his empty words and pie-in-the-sky promises.

America's choice is clear. Barack Obama, a messianic egomaniac who thinks he's, like, our savior or something, or John McCain, who will defeat evil and put an end to greed.

John McCain will not only take on special interests and Washington insiders, he'll fundamentally alter human nature. And without raising taxes, either. He'll lead us to a sort of martial nirvana where all other emotions are replaced with patriotism, and turn the United States into a shining, selfless, bipartisan cross between heaven and Sparta.

Or maybe he's just a desperate shell of a man, babbling glorp.

If Reverend Wright went around shouting stuff like "We're going to put an end to greed!" people would start thinking he was some kind of fruitcake.

--

You might think "I'll end greed" would be the most mortifying thing John McCain could say at one sitting. You'd be wrong. At Wednesday's town hall -- his first with Sarah Palin -- he topped himself with this explanation of her credentials:

"She has been commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard. Fact. On September 11 a contingent of the Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them so I think she understands national security challenges."

Which is fine except:

The governor of Alaska doesn't command the National Guard in combat overseas.

Sarah Palin didn't deploy anyone anywhere on September 11th. She was a guest speaker at an Army deployment ceremony.

Track Palin isn't in the National Guard; he's in the Army.

Sometimes it seems like it's more than John McCain can handle, just keeping all the lies about Sarah Palin straight in his head. Tomorrow he'll say she's in the Air Force herself, on a plane she bought on eBay, bombing the bridges at Toko-Ri.

--

It's all Shiites and Sunnis to John McCain. So what's your problem? We're told that Lord Raglan fought the entire Crimean War believing the Russians were the French. And that worked out okay because, uh, everyone under his command died.

"I know how to win wars! I know how to win wars!" -- John McCain 7/15/08

I know this is a sort of threadbare exercise -- the old switcheroo -- but imagine what would happen if Barack Obama got the Army and the National Guard mixed up.

Ditto. This is great. How did this man win his party's nomination? I don't get how he beat out Romney and Huckabee. What were the Republicans thinking? In fact, what are they thinking now?

I've been watching these sites that people post and I am amazed the GOP let this man run. There is mispeak and there is just straight out babble. This is the latter. What are people seeing in this man?

Scary. Very scary.

Can't wait to have this man's finger on our nuclear arsenal button....

However, methinks the "oil rig fishies" clip is much more telling, albeit in a different way.

This entire McCain/Palin sideshow would be laughable, except that so much nationally, and globally, hangs in the balance of this election.

Can it really be true that the race is this close? SCARY INDEED!

With McCain trying to blame the collapse of Fannie Mae on Obama, isn't it time someone brought up the whole Keating Five Scandal??? It was caused by the same deregulation and McCain was in the middle of it all. In that scandal people lost their life savings to a crook named Keating, who was one of McCain's closest mentors....Let's get real here McCain...

Read about the SCANDLE ole John McCain was a party to.People lost their money, and a lot of it, in a big fraud that he was deeply involved with.

The frightening thing is that John McCains call to fame is that he wants to privatize Social Security. How many of you trust Wall Street with your retirement funds!

When will the public wake up to the fact that John McCain is simply is not a very intelligent person. We have already had a president for 8 years who was a C student at best and we all know how well that worked out. I say, let's break with tradition and go for the smart guy.

I desagree with this assessment of Sen. McCain. True intelligence is a grace from God. It cannot be earned in schools. True intelligence is called Wisdom. It is Grace and the Spirit Itself!

uh ok, so what signs of wisdom are we talking about here?

as for grace, those who possess it don't lie or mislead.; they lead and enhance.

I would advocate that Mc-confused is possessed with neither and is out of touch with intelligence, wisdom and usually the facts.

Apparently this is the real attraction of the republican party. "Intelligence" redefined to mean "really stupid people" & people who used to be considered intelligent now relegated to the term "elite" meaning "snobby". Intellectual laziness is redefined as "I'm right you're wrong". And with the government, big business, and corporate media all in bed together helping them maintain the delusion, they could go on hijacking this country for years, until the economy finally collapsed from all the crooked market activity... oops... that's already happening. ARGH!!!

Lately he shows all the signs of being heavily prescribed, I suspect in order to quell his temper tantrums. It would simply be too risky to allow him a public show of anger, so it would not be beyond belief that he is sedated. He's just floating away.......

Floating with the fishes around that oil rig he visited recently---where the fish "like" to be around the oil rig--heh-heh-heh---I would sooner believe that he actually knows what the fish are thinking, than that he knows ANYTHING about being president. But the people of the South, where I live, are lining up in droves to drink the KoolAid again!!!This time instead of an overgrown teenager who's been enabled by money and family connections all his life,we will give a demented Senior Citizen who only ever accomplished surviving 5 yrs in a prison camp.

John McCain, possibly suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder----a war related mental illness. Do we know whether JM has received mental health or anger mgmt counseling, from a militiary
psychiatrist, upon his return from 5 years of captivity in Vietnam? Do we know whether JM was ever prescribed psychotropic drugs by a military psychiatrist? Is it possible that JM may have cognitive issues, because of the longevity of his captivity? Finally, does JM rely on psychotropic drugs, to date?

McCain, at 72, is suffering the first signs of early onset Alzheimer's disease. It's only going to get worse. Time for the media to demand that his full medical records be released for public purview. Not one of these two hour viewing sessions for a handful of friendly reporters as they've done so far.

If McCain is elected, his cabinet will probably have to declare him mentally incompetent. Then Palin will take over and then, well, there is not "then" after that.

I hope all Americans realize that John Mccain is the guy that Romney told the republican convention "will take a weed wacker to regulations" there was thunderus applaus. This born again reformer who will save us from policy's of his party's making. Give me a break. John Mccain is no Maveric, he is no agent of change, he is as he has always been on the wrong side of the issues. Now he wants to pretend he has not supported the very Bills that removed the oversight and regulations of both the Banking industry and the commodities market, "enron loophole" which drove up the price of oil and thus the price of gas. John Mccain has thrived off of the money of lobbyists and now he wants to pretend that he has not been bought and payed for by special interest, we are not buying it John. This country is a mess and it is of his making. It is time for a real game changer, and that is Barack Obama.

Brave foray. A question looms: Why isn't the MSM covering this critical issue. If it is, I haven't seen it.

Much of the comment here is reflective of what many observant Americans are thinking. Alzheimers is not unknown to my family. The signs of a mind that seems to not fully understand and relate are much in evidence.

To become a police officer or a firefighter in many of our larger and/or more progressive cities, it is necessary to undergo psychological screening/evaluation of some kind. After all, a police officer will be given a gun.

MSM where are you?

There are a lot of older Americans who will vote for Barack Obama, my mom is one of them. She is 77, she is an old white lady who does not want to see John Mccain president because she is aware of her own failing mental status. But if the news, esp, Msnbc went at this issue, it would turn a lot of people off, it may even offend people so much that they may vote for Mccain just to prove a point. I agree that he is showing signs of loosing it.

I am a senior and know many people younger than Mccain with dementia. Many of them are war veterans. Has there ever been a study on this? Veterans and alzheimers?
Something is definitely wrong with him. Many, many people do not see this or choose not to see this. We have a big problem on our hands. Talk to people. Vote

The wackiness of the Palin-McCain ticket - what with Sarah wanting to bomb Russia and Johnny likely to bomb Spain - would be funny were it a Saturday Night Live skit rather than one of two possible futures for America.

I'm working like a madman for Obama. I've got little ones, you see. And I'd like there to be an actual civilization here by the time they grow up. Sarah and Johnny would rather war - the former because God told her to start killing people and not stop until everyone looks like the cast from a 1950's sitcom, and the latter because he happened to draw The Hangman when he was on the "'S' countries".

Dark electoral comedy, that. Deadly serious, though, if you're a fan of life as we know it.

Yep.

THE STAKES ARE HIGH THIS YEAR.

The geographically challenged McCain can't see Spain from any of his houses. He seems to think it's part of Latin America.
