Introducing Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson arrived at OffTheBus by way of USC's Annenberg School for Communication, where he is a journalism master's student. He also works as the managing editor of the website Pop + Politics, an early content partner with OTB that introduced him to the citizen journalism endeavor. He was instantly fascinated by the OTB distributive projects, believing that model is the true future of internet journalism.

Chris has been a sporadic contributor for OffTheBus, serving up pieces on Wesley Clark, David Horowitz, and his own parents.

He spent his formative years living in Cairo, Egypt, before returning to the U.S. for college and working six long years in corporate USA before deciding to pursue writing as a career. It is his supreme goal to one day play even a small role in helping people better understand the conflict in the MIddle East (which by that time will hopefully be discussed in the past tense).

Volunteering for Op-Ed editing at OffTheBus takes Chris one step closer to joining the digital revolution of info-mongering. A longtime reader of The Huffington Post before coming into the fray here, this opportunity is one he embraces wholeheartedly.

For the record, he also enjoys utterly unnecessary technology purchases, quizzing Hanna Montana fans on the blurred line between nationalism and patriotism, and cheese.
