I've been shooting dance for a very long time and have been dancing for even longer. I had worked on stage, behind the scenes, in the dance studio, and on location but the one place I had never worked was on a seamless background. I asked myself what would happen if I removed everything extraneous and left only the shape, the line, the dance, and the dancer. What happened was as transformative for me as it was for the dancers.
It became a new work for me, a project involving dance and the dancers. I sculpted the space and line of the dancer and the designed the frame with dance.
