In today's installment of McCain vs. McCain, the "straight talker" claimed credit for passage of the 21st Century GI Bill of Rights he opposed.
When Fighting Dem Jim Webb vowed to give patriots who enlisted after 9/11 the same opportunity for a first-class education offered to the greatest generation after World War Two, McCain said NO.
When dozens of Veterans Service Organization led by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and VoteVets.org, and bipartisan Congressional majorities led by Fighting Dem Senator Jim Webb (D-VA), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), Senate Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Congressman Harry Mitchell (D-AZ), pushed to make the 21st Century GI Bill of Rights a reality, McCain said NO.
When Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton endorsed the 21st Century Bill of Rights, McCain said NO -- even going so far as to offer his own watered-down so-called substitute.
But the Fighting Dems beat back the Bush-McCain opposition, the bill sailed through the Congress and now -- rather than admit he was wrong -- McCain is claiming credit for the bill he opposed at every turn. Today in Ohio McCain said:
I'm happy to tell you that we probably agreed to an increase in educational benefits for our veterans that not only gives them increase in their educational benefits, but if they stay in for a certain period of time than they can transfer those educational benefits to their spouses and or children.
Here's the clip:
We?
Well.
I'm happy to tell you that the 21st Century GI Bill of Rights will become law. I just wish McCain had not opposed it so long before he supported it. Our heroes need a President who is an ally not a roadblock in their pursuit of the American dream.

So, let us heed George Orwell's warning and remember that language MATTERS. Words must have meaning - or we will become victims to 'compassionate conservatism' or the Clear Skies Initiative, war is peace, etc. etc.
Tolerance does not mean acceptance. Tolerance is the act of putting up with somebody irritating or otherwise unpleasant. Acceptance is the willingness to accept somebody as a member of a group or Social circle. Just because I Tolerate you does not mean I will have you over for dinner.
Lawmakers are not above the laws they write. Specifically, John McCain agreed to public financing limitations and should be prosecuted for exceeding spending limits in the Primary. Also, McCain’s campaign should be terminated. He qualified to appear on the ballot in several States by accepting public funds and now wants to back out of public financing.

They want to hold Sen.Obama responsible for everything his supporters have ever said.
They refuse to hold Sen.McCain responsible for things he says himself.
Somehow McCain who is very wealthy imagines that he is just common folk. Between him and his wife, their income is at least $300,000 per month. They keep up 11 residences and a private jet. Thois makes them richer than at least 99% of Americans. His connection to common folks is that he lives in North America and so do they.

McCain likes soldiers when they're out fighting his wars, and he'll spend any amount of money to keep the wars going. But he doesn't seem to have much interest in veterans, especially if there's money involved.
Unlike Hegel who showed and happily voted against the unemployed, McCain didn't feel the need to be on the record. One can't be more arrogant than that.
So if you vote for this heartless man and if his policies as president hurt you, then don't complain: ever

And here's another one for ya, Hank
"Obama/McCaskill Military Job Family Protection Act"
Legislation introduced by U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) that would provide up to a full year of job protection for a family member who is caring for a service member recovering from combat-related injuries today passed the Senate. The Military Family Job Protection Act, introduced by Senators Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill (D-MO), passed as an amendment to the reauthorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
This amendment would ensure that military families not be forced to wonder whether their job will still be there when they get back home and would ease the burden on service members who must focus on their own recovery. This approach was endorsed last week by the President’s Commission. Obama was also joined in this amendment by Senators Tom Harkin (D-IA), John Kerry (D-MA), Mary L. Landrieu (D-LA), Richard J. Durbin (D-IL), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Edward Kennedy (D-MA), and Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (D-DE).

Mr. McCain should not try to build a lifetime reputation on one truly noble period of his life. It occurred many years ago.
We have almost no factual coverage from msm.
Radio is filled with fixed news and Limbaugh.
It is no wonder that Bush won and that this race will be close.
If you don't search for the truth all you will hear is distortions and lies.
People are lazy they will believe the lies.
"We have met the enemy and he is us!"
I'd say he should follow Dole's lead and resign from the Senate to concentrate on his run, except he virtually has - leaving his buddy Sen. Graham to do his dirty work by calling Obama out by name on the floor, while Sen. McConnell constantly refers to "the Democratic nominee for president." The Democrats' hands aren't clean on this, but I thought they were supposed to keep presidential politics out of Congressional matters?
The other reason McCain won't resign? The little fact of Arizona having a Democrat as governor. Which would give the Dems 52 in the Senate. Which might go back to 51, as I'm sure some of the caucus would clamor to have Lieberman booted...he's going to be a man without a party in truth very soon, I think.
p.s. I am not a flop-flipper, I don't even know what a flop-flopper looks like, Johnny BB McCain
