President Barack Obama

It's a new day in America.

Barack Obama has captured the imagination of the American people and majority of the popular delegates from caucuses and primaries from sea to shining sea. Barack Obama has the vision, ideas and values needed to bring positive change to our lives, from economic justice to energy independence to an end to the Iraq war and care for our veterans.

As an activist dedicated to participatory democracy, I am thrilled that tens of millions of voters and tens of thousands of volunteers have participated in this Democratic nomination and breathed new life intro our democracy. I have great respect for our other presidential candidates, particularly Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who has proved herself to be a champion for working families. We are at the dawn of a new day and a new generation of leadership for America.

I am confident that we will all come together and unite behind the popular delegate winner, Barack Obama -- and tonight pledge my DNC superdelegate vote and my volunteer commitment to help win back the White House for the American people and elect President Barack Obama.

My most grateful regards Ms. Pelosi. Thank you for your service to America and the Democratic party. I love your message of unity. We are indeed at the dawn of a new day of a new day and a new generation for American leadership. Our party has never been a in stronger state probably since the days of the great FDR. The strength of our unity will mean the difference between a landslide or just a meager victory in November. Let's join forces and make this happen. It's time to elect President Obama.

Thanks, Ms. Pelosi. While I can understand everyone's impatience to start their engines for the general election, I respect many of the superdelegates' choice to wait until the people have had their say. That said--step up, everyone else! What are you waiting for?

Thanks Ms Pelosi, God bless you.

Last night Hillary said she would not concede but re-group. Her actual comment on workers was not 'working families',

"particularly Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who has proved herself to be a champion for working families."

but, 'hard working people, white people'. I'm not proud of that champion.

We could have had a "new day in America" any time since November 2006. All we had to do was enforce the laws of our land, and impeach the President and his Vice President.

Too bad that many Democrats and the House Leader weren't interested.

Ah, the sadness of the missed opportunity.

Having your statement in front of me as inspiration, I think I would have written instead,

"Too bad that many Democrats and the Yo Momma weren't interested."

Ms. Pelosi,

With all due respect, aside from having a well known last name, what exactly is it about you that justifies that you hold the awesome power of super delegate in the first place?

DRPike asks, "Ms. Pelosi, With all due respect, aside from having a well known last name, what exactly is it about you that justifies that you hold the awesome power of super delegate in the first place? "

She runs (or is chair, or some such) the California Dem party. Anyone with a similar position is a super delegate.

I, personally, am campaigning to become the first infradelegate.

`FarbeOUT.

Wow. What a risk you're taking!

All sarcasm aside - I guess better late than never.

What took you so long? Can't you people ever take a stand instead of just looking which way the wind blows?

Horst, I promised my vote to the American people - so I awaited their votes and then endorsed the popular delegates winner as promised. I took so long because the process did ... now I guess you can say that's waiting for the wind but I view it as respecting the Presidential fitness test we put forward in the Democratic party - to win the nomination, capture a majority of delegates from primaries and caucuses across America.

If Hillary had her own record or two legs to stand on her "35 years" of experience may have counted for something. Spending 35 years collecting political chips and clout does not however convince the majority of democrats that she is the one to usher in a new era of less partisanship in Washington. Hillary has been polarizing for 20 years. Obama has nothing to do with the public's visceral reaction to she and Bill.

God it feels good to move on.... Obama 08'!!!!!

You are not helping Obama win in November with posts like this. Please reflect on the fact that this issue is more complex than it appears to you, and there are valid reasons for supporting Clinton.

While I found some of her behavior on the campaign trail frustrating and disagreeable, I understand why people supported her. Her tactics drove me nuts, but I do believe her strategy was intended to make America a better place.

Give her supporters some respect. Obama already won; you don't need to rub folks' faces in it.

La, la, la la la...wait a minute! Did we skip a few steps here? BO barely won the Democratic nomination, Kerry won the nom easily and look what that got him, he lost the election by 3 million with a united Democratic Party!. How can someone who won by a hair assume they are going to walk into the Whitehouse? Better line up your ducks, which may include an olive branch to the 18,000,000 voters who have been vilified by so many BO supporters.
09:11 AM on 06/04/2008
Exactly, janedarcy! And he hasn't been nominated yet. He's the presumptive nominee, that's all.

Obama supporters have been so obnoxious through all this that it makes it difficult to like their candidate.
