They were young and in love... with murder.
Ian and Myra Hindley
These young lovers went on a serial killing, murder spree that has been described as "arbitrary and uncommonly vicious" in Manchester, England in the 1960s. Myra was called "the most evil woman in Britain" at her trial. You can read more about Ian and Myra's killer past here, but they basically lured kids into their car, killed them and then buried them.
Raymond Fernandez and Martha Beck
I know they're not much to look at, but these crazy kids had passion. These guys became known as "The Lonely Hearts Killers" because they'd put ads out in the paper to find lonely old ladies with money, then basically showed up and killed them for their money. It's like Craigslist before Craigslist. They also inspired an amazing film that I highly recommend called The Honeymoon Killers.
Fred and Rosemary West
This adorable couple murdered 10 girls and young women including their own daughter. Rosemary took great delight in torturing the young women and Fred would dismember the bodies and bury them in the backyard. How romantic.
Caril Fugate and Charles Starkweather
In 1958 this adorable couple embarked on a murder spree that shocked and horrified the entire nation. Caril and Chuck slaughtering an entire family and others in the Dakota badlands. The couple also inspired another amazing film staring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek called Badlands which I recommend you add to your queue right now, since you're sitting at a computer and all.
Paul and Karla Bernardo
Who knew, when these crazy Canadian kids got hitched, that they shared the same passion for sexually torturing and murdering young girls. I mean, it's not something you usually put in your online dating profile.
Gerald and Charlene Gallego
Gerry and Charlene have the rare honor of being one of the most violent serial killing couples in the history of the good ol' U.S. of A. As usual they preyed on young girls (try to be original for once already) and they would slaughter, rape and kill them with "unimaginable cruelty." They buried one pregnant girl alive. After being found guilty of killing at least 10 girls, Gerry got 16 whole years in prison. I know people who have been in graduate school longer.
Lee Whiteley and Deborah Taylor
These guys wanted to be a modern day Bonnie and Clyde but didn't get quite as far. They committed a couple of violent robberies and then ended up killing one victim by stabbing him 40 times and the police promptly shut down their freak show by shoving them in prison for life.
Cynthia Coffman and James Marlow
Cindy was visiting her boyfriend in jail when she met his cellmate James. It was love at first visit and as soon as James got out of jail the couple hit the road together and started a serial killing spree that ended in his and hers matching death sentences.
