"Armstrong Women's Time Trial at Worlds," according to a headline in the sports section of the Boulder Daily Camera. The headline writer must have been asleep at the keyboard when tapping out this headline. Or maybe not. Maybe s/he wrote it that way intentionally to lure readers into the report.
It wasn't Lance de France suddenly gender-bending but Kristin Armstrong, an Olympic gold medalist who won the 16.7-mile women's time trial at the road cycling UCI World Championships at Medrisio, Switzerland. Coincidentally, Armstrong's ex-wife is also named Kristin, but she now uses her maiden name of Richard -- and she has never been a bicycle racer.
The report went on to say that Ms. K. Armstrong is planning to retire. We all know that Mr. L. Armstrong also retired -- then unretired.
