Blackwater, as you may know, has been banned from Iraq for shooting civilians. Whether this ban lasts, or this business with numerous right-wing Republican connections will prevail, is yet to be seen (sadly I would bet on the latter, as some experts on warfare already have).
Yet, if you want to really know what makes Blackwater tick, from private armies to no accountability, right-wing connections and no-bid contracts, here is a short film Robert Greenwald of Brave New Films put together. Anyone wanting to better understand these war profiteers might wanto to give it a glance:

Private armies. Warlords. They work so well in third world countries like Columbia, Afganistan and Iraq. Another step deeper into hell, complements of Bush/Cheney.
California's Schwarzenegger sees revenue. The people see the SS.

NO BLACKWATER IN CA!
This is no more or less than radical right-wing fascism. If we allow this guy to continue playing the corporate welfare queen benefiting from regulations he writes and his Congressional friends adopt, we deserve to lose our rights and freedom.
The United States Military is an absolute disloyal entity allowing this to go on. Our dead and wounded kids are subsidising these bastards. These bums need their pensions forfeited.
They had Iraqs leader put to death for the same crimes they commit.
So do you think these will be the modern day Brown Shirts?
More like the Fedayeen Bush
This video doesn't mention the fact that Blackwater is lobbying, in California, to open a private Intelligence branch as well. Isn't that a cheerful prospect. NSA, Blackwater, Cheney...Oh my!
