The "Tea Party" doesn't exist. They only way they can establish themselves is by electing their own third-party candidates.

"our goal is to beat Obama and flip the Senate. So if [Romney]'s the candidate, we're going to beat Obama with him and we're going to flip the Senate."

I think that this satement sums it up pretty well. They want Obama, and the Dems. out, and could care less about about anything else. Jobs? Who cares? Wars? Who cares?

The Repubs have done so well for us, that they brought us to the point where we are now. Who cares?

Matt Kibbe. But maybe his repulsive sideburns from the 70's are appropriate -- because his group would take us back there -- to the 1870's though, or maybe the 1770's.

f the Tea Party was a real party not a right wing of the Republican Party they would run their own candidate in this election. Not going to happen because in the end they are and always have been Republicans.

You go Mitt, take that nomination and eliminate the tea party while doing so. The President will definitely have to send you a Christmas card for doing so. Afterall, you will be doing him and the rest of the country a favor, first take out the tea party, and then lose to him in 2012. Mitt Romney, the gift that just keeps ooooonnnnnn giving. To the Democrats, that is.

Like the Faust party they are the Tea Party will back him . Because in the end Romney will twist himself into a pretzel to meet their demands.

The Tea Party will take their shots at Romney -- but it is hard to knock off an empty suit.

The republican candidates can best be described as a bad circus act. The leader Herb Cain, gets financial advice from a video game called the SIMS, but tells tea baggers he gets it from a leading economist who happens to be a bank teller.Shame on the republican party for disgracing the office of the President.

Anyone—ANYONE—who truly believes that any one of these t-publican presidential candidates could be elected president of the greatest nation on earth is delusional. To seriously believe any of them have the mental/intellectual capacity to be president in the first place is nothing short of astonishing. If vitriol and venom are all that is needed to be elected president, they would have a chance. I suspect that the t-publican candidates do not possess the innate capacity to think for themselves—or are lucent and capable enough to distinguish between fantasy and reality.

The Tea Party's power and base will disperse when the next white guy is elected President of the United States.

Then they will have enough of that so-called power just a little longer---at least until Obama is re-elected, and then when We elect the nation’s first woman, Hillary Clinton, after him.

Heavily armed fake christian tea baggers are demanding the end of our federal government and are preparing to invade on your personal privacy. Rick Perry is dedicated to this effort. Mitt Romney just wants the power.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, tonight's debate will be in the form of a single question.
We'll start with you, Mr. Cain, what would be your first act as President, if you were to win the election?

I would eliminate the EPA.

And you, Mr. Perry?
I would eliminate Social Security.

And you, Mr. Santorum?
I would eliminate Planned Parenthood.

And you, Ms. Bachmann?
I would eliminate the Department of Education.

And you, Mr. Paul?
I would eliminate the Government.

And you, Mr. Romney?
What would you like me to do?

**** applause from the TP base ****

(btw, Presdent Obama's first act as President was to sign the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, in support of equal pay for women.)

Let's face it. The GOP field (Romney excluded) is full of rejects. Romney however, is only interested in a President's Badge for his collection. Romney is far more liberal than any democrats in history. His presidency would fail under tea party pressure to end the federal government.

Good points. But Romney was rejected for office several times -- and by the GOP in 2008 for McCain.
05:44 PM on 10/14/2011
The Tea Party is the John Birch Society. Same thing. Teabaggers should have their children explain this to them.
05:42 PM on 10/14/2011
Perry will be the republican nominee. Romney will run as an independent republican. Obama is guaranteed victory.

Another possible scenario (more likely as I see it):

Romney will be the Republican nominee. Palin will run as the Tea Party nominee. Obama is STILL guaranteed victory either way.
